about how I might possibly sort of maybe might want to go Navy Nurse Reserve after I get my Bachelors. He was totally supportive! I figured he might not be on board because we both already did our time (I only did less than a year AD because of my injuries). I didn't think I would ever want to go back in, but I feel like I missed out since I got early discharge.
I won't have my BSN for about 2 more years, but it's good to know the option is there. Especially if I go for my masters like I want to, and they will put me through school.

I looked into it on the AF side (and briefly considered all branches) as well. With nurses, they're generally way more lenient with age and medical history. I think you could be 36 before even having to get an age waiver.
Navy has an excellent new-grad program. If you can get into it, you'll have great training for your career.

I think they have actually raised the age limit without waivers (I think, offhand to 42? or 40?) because of wanting to get more healthcare workers in...

Quite possibly. I looked into it about 3 years ago. And I didn't pursue it because there's no way I could have doe it along with H's career and how long his commitment still was.
Thanks guys! Like I said I might not even end up doing it, but it's good to know he supports me if I do.
I haven't talked with a recruiter but I looked up my discharge code online and it says it's possible depending on the injury. Mine have healed and I even went to the VA to get the OK that the fractures were gone and it was not a problem anymore. But I will be meeting with a recruiter sometime in the future just to verify.
I think I want to do something with Pediatrics, but I'm not sure yet. I start my clinicals next semester and I will have a better idea by then!

Definitely let your clinicals direct you. I started school thinking I'd go straight from there into a CNM program. And then I found I wanted nothing to do with women and their pregnancies. The other person who thought like me at the beginning also changed her mind. Conversely, a few people that were totally into the critical care thing ended up loving L&D.
