I'm getting sick. I can feel it. My throat has been scratchy since yesterday. This morning, I picked up a headache to go with it and by this afternoon, my back was aching. I just checked my temp and it's 99.8 which isn't high, I know but it's coming on.
In general, I do well with plague. I just stay in bed with a few days and wait it out.
However, when pinky was a few months old, I picked up the plague and because I knew exactly jack shit, I took a shitton of cold meds and within a short period of time, my kid was in the hospital with failure to thrive.
So I just need someone to tell me to simmer down, that my supply will be just fine as long as I don't take meds and all will be well.
I already know these things but I wanna hear it anyway.

You'll be fine, if you're really worried and it's possible do a "nursing vacation" lay around, drink fluids, take care of baby, eat, nurse and do nothing else. I had a couple colds and we managed just fine :-) Oh you can also grab some fenugreek to support your supply.

Don't take Sudafed or anything containing Sudafed (look for a †decongestant†in the labeling)... When you're breastfeeding, especially early on, Sudafed is the devil (which makes sense - Sudafed is meant to dry you out)
If you're curious about specific meds, msg me (on fb is easier for me) and I can check them in the breastfeeding compatibility reference book. Really, I can! :-)

Yup, this. I had a pretty mean cold at like 6 wks or so, we were fine. And the kid didn't get it. Rest up, plenty of fluids.

My understanding has always been that typically it's a positive to nurse while sick because your breast milk will contain additional antibodies. :Y:
I had 10 colds DDs first year of life. You'll be ok. Keep drinking!
I have nothing to add to this, but this makes me feel more normal. I am rarely sick. But the past 3 months, it has been a revolving door of crappy colds. I know kids bring it home from daycare, but I was thinking it is just me.

When I got a cold, I took one dose of benadryl at night (I was scared to take any more than that). I didn't see a dip in my supply, and the dose helped me feel better.
The main thing is make sure you are drinking enough water and eating enough calories. You can do it!
