We're most likely getting an English Mastiff puppy this weekend (so excited!!) If any oldies are around you may have seen my post on the offboard about it, but I have since deactivated my account so I thought I'd ask this question here.
He is 7 months old. Can we feed TOTW, or does he need special puppy food for large breeds?

TOTW is fine. We have normally taken ours off puppy food ~6 months, some will keep them on it longer or shorter. My girl was on puppy food until about 10 months, but she was the runt and is still small. The protein content can be a bit high in puppy food and you want a slower growth so the joints are okay. You want to double check the calcium/phosphorous content/ratio, I'm pretty sure TOTW's was correct. My pup's brother was on TOTW from about 5 months until the recall, then he switched to a Fromm food.
All we've had are mastiffs and we went through a lot to find a good food. We ended up with California natural and chose the herring and see potato. Our vet is a close friend and he steered us toward 'novel proteins' and natural oils. Avoiding lamb, chicken and beef which is actually an allergy to many dogs and using a natural oil to help with those large joints. Another brand was innova. It's been a perfect food for our dogs.
Good luck and enjoy your mastiff, they are truly a gift!!!
Also to answer your puppy food question. We used a large breed puppy formula until they were around your pips age and them switched like the pp mentioned. You don't want to give puppy food too London account I the joint growth. Find a vet with experience with large breed dogs. Our vet has always had Great Danes so he was an awesome resource.
