You can. I don't know how long you have to wait, I'd guess at least a few months. i've heard that the nostril's a piercing that heals over pretty quickly, so I wouldn't leave it without jewelry for very long at all. Changing jewelry, though, is no big deal.

Yes you can. I'd keep it in a minimum of two months before changing it. I wouldn't leave the hole open without jewelry in it very long though. It will grow over quick.

They also sell flesh-colored "studs" (plastic i think) you can put in if you don't want to leave it empty but sometimes they are more distracting that a regular diamond or whatever.
I am just wondering if I'd have to have it in for my Christmas pics next month if I got it this weekend. Sounds like I would. I was going to get it done when my sister and her SIL got piercings in their ears over the holidays, but they're going tomorrow instead. Traitors. lol.
The last time I got something pierced was in 4th grade, so needless to say, I don't remember much about the healing process.
Unless the shot's going to be tight on your race, it probably won't show up in photos. Mine almost never registers in pics.
As far as after-care, listen to your piercer. For mine, I just washed it twice a day with unscented soap and tried to leave it alone as much as possible.

It shouldn't get in the way of putting on make up. Honestly within 10 minutes of having mine it was exactly as it is 11 years later. There was never any redness or discomfort, so in a few weeks you should be able to do anything you want around it without issue.
I also started taking mine out right away for a hot minute at a time
Me too. And it's not a problem. You'll get used to applying foundation and powder around it quickly.
Can you do it right away? While it's healing?
Oh, yeah. My skin's really so-so. I don't go out in public without foundation. I just kind of avoided that particular nostril for a few weeks, which wasn't a big deal.
Make sure you ask what type of jewelry they pierce with. The first place I went to would only do a hoop so I had to find somewhere else that would do a stud. I guess I could've changed it myself but my skin hates piercings anyway so I didn't want to fuck with it much.
I waited about a month to change mine, which is sooner than they recommend, but it's already fully healed and I've had no problems. However, if it's out for more than a few seconds it will start to close up. My nose is all Spiderman or something with this quick closing and healing!
