Hi everyone!
Lauryl Mae was born on 10/14/12 at 9:26 am! She was 7 lbs, 5 oz and 21 inches long.
All day on Saturday 10/13, I was having contractions. I really wanted to make sure it was real labor so I cleaned the house, went to Target, the Halloween store, Pier One (a story for another day!grr), the grocery store and then to a restaurant for a fancy steak dinner. My belly was rock hard the whole time- ha.
Around 8 pm I told DH "let's go and see if I'm really in labor". I was crying as I was saying this because I just thought it was never going to happen and I think I even said I would be pregnant forever. LOL. Dramatic, I know...
At 9 pm, I was admitted and 5 cm dilated!!!! ;D However, things didn't really progress much so I was put on pitocin and eventually (around 4:45 am on 10/14), my water was broken and I dilated to 9 1/2.
7 am was push time and HOLY SHIT. Guess who got an epi and it didn't do anything? Yeah, me. I felt every.single.contraction. I would then regret that steak dinner since I vomited it all up.
Lauryl arrived at 9:26 am. She came out crying the sweetest sound I've ever heard. I couldn't believe how LONG she was was! And she had this head FULL of dark brown hair. So many things were going through my mind but mostly, I was just amazed that I created and carried her.
She is a sweet baby that loves to cuddle with her Mama and Dada and latched on like a champ! I love her, DH loves her (I call him the baby hog), and the pets are very intrigued.
However, we are currently at the NICU because of high bilirubin levels. Lauryl is under the photo therapy lamp and on anti biotics. We are hoping to go back home tomorrow.
I have a few photos up on FB if we're friends- check 'em out.

Yes... MORE PICS PLEASE!!! I am going nuts here
Congratulations though, from the (few) [hehehe] photos that you have shared, she is absolutely beautiful! Doesn't look much like a Viking to me ;P I hope that everything fixes quickly and you can take that little girl home soon
Congrats! I remember looking at the kids and saying, "I cannot believe I have 34.5 inches of baby in me." FX Her Bili counts come down soon. The NICU was no fun!

Thanks everyone!!! We are home now and it feels great to settle in again. Took her to DH's tennis match to show her off yesterday. Of course, she was a hit!
