I'm so over it. She's always eaten our sheets or my underwear since she was a puppy (she's 5). We fixed the underwear issue by getting a different kind of hamper. Now we need to fix the sheets issue.
She is no longer allowed to sleep at the foot of our bed and she has her own dog bed at the end of the bed on the floor because of her behavior. We lock our bedroom door and keep her out, but we also have two 4 year olds that can't remember to always keep her out.
Her exercise has dropped a bit in the last month because my husband has gone back to work. We are trying to find a routine to get that back to more regular walks for her, which I think helps lengthen the time between incidents. She eats Blue Buffalo Lamb & Rice dry food, so I don't think it's her diet. Plus the fact that she has been doing this for 5 years now.
Is this just life with my particular beagle or anyone have any suggestions?
Assuming she doesn't chew up other things, I think a combination of upping her exercise and being extra diligent at making sure the bedroom doors are closed may be the way to go. Good luck!

In conjunction with PPs advice, can you also maybe get an antler or kong for her to chew on? Something that will keep her busy and is a positive place for her to chew?
This seems like a kid problem - install gates on doors to bedrooms where she chews sheets. Then the kids can't let her in.
Gates don't keep my kids out. My son is 4 but the size of a 7 yr old. He's been busting through gates since he was 18 months. I seriously wish this was a real option for me.

I forgot we have some of these and haven't used them in awhile. She loves the ones that challenge her to get the treats/peanut butter out. Plus lets her take care of her natural chewing tendancies in a positive way. Thanks for the reminder!

Our beagle puppy does the same thing..he loves to chew sheets and blankets. Blegh so annoying! I know it's kind of icky, but have you tried bitter apple? Ours HATES it.

One of my beagle mixes goes through "chew random things" phases and they usually correspond 100% with when he isn't getting enough exercise. Kongs stuffed with food, ouzzle toys, antlers, bully sticks are all great alternatives. We keep them in a dog toy basket and the dogs can help themselves (they don't resource guard so we don't need to monitor, if he resource guards and you have kids you may want to supervise). I would definitely up the exercise too.
