Where are you originally from?
With all of your travels, do you internally panic about bugs and spiders in your house (couches are a weird fear of mine after we return from long trips)?

Favorite wines? Like asking me to pick my favorite kid! Red: I had a marvelous Callistoga cab, right before moving to Japan. It may have been the company (sister) or price (free), but it was seriously delicious. White: The chards in New Zealand were amazing. I'm terrible at remembering names, but Wairau reserve was awesome. It was even more awesome that the winery served a blue cheese souffle. Without that, I wouldn't have remembered the name.
State: I'm open to the idea of just about anything, but I'd prefer never to live in the South or the Plains ever again. But I'll never say never. I'm sure there's some part of Arkansas I can handle?
Borat, yes, at times. No at others. Overall, I appreciate his willingness to push buttons.
Woman president: I sure hope so. When countries who don't have the best track record with women's rights (Philippines, Pakistan, Liberia, Malawi, etc) can elect a woman, why can't we?! Note: Palin, this does not mean you.

Where are you originally from? Fort Lauderdale, although half my family is from the Bahamas, so I consider that as important to my background since I'd live with them in the summers.
With all of your travels, do you internally panic about bugs and spiders in your house (couches are a weird fear of mine after we return from long trips)?Nope. My only fears about bugs come from watching too much national geographic as a kid. If a bug slurps on my drool at night, I'm freaked. Otherwise, I'm cool with bugs, as long as they're not black widows or going to give me malaria
How old are you? 31
What is your favorite mindless tv show? I don't watch a lot of mindless, but if I do, it's a marathon of real housewives OC or BH
How would you define your home decor style? Inherited. I mostly have mid-century teak, and I love its unfussiness, but I have to admit I also love that it had been my mom's. Beyond that, I don't think about style.

What is your favorite color? Blue, of all tropical flavors
What is the strangest ethnic food you've eaten on your travels? Depends on your perspective. Do you consider haggis, uni, or durian to be the most ethnic?
If you could live in one place for the rest of your life, would you do it, and where would it be? Wow, this is hard. I freaking love Hawaii, but I'm pretty sure my answer is NZ. I loved it there. I loved it before I went, and traveling there was just proof
What book are you currently reading? Emperor of all Maladies. About the history of cancer. Utterly engaging
What's the last movie you saw in a theater? Hunger games. First move I've seen (of my own accord) in a theater in 2 years. Last before that was Coraline. I don't like theaters
What is your favorite dog breed?Mutt. My baby was (I think, she was a stray rescue at 2 months) a doby-hound mutt. I like big dogs of the mutt variety
Of all the places you've travelled, what has been your favorite?Oh, gosh. NZ was incredible, partly b/c it confirmed my desire to live there, and partly b/c I'd been planning for 5 years, after our trips kept getting canceled. I really freaking love NZ. But my first solo trip was to Italy, so it holds a special place in my heart.
For personal gain, the beef wellington on epicurious. I can get anything from H after that
Not athletic, in the least. Laughably unathletic.
Ethiopian coffee. Unfortunately, I can't really do caffeine anymore. My heart hates it
I'm definitely a night owl. Insomniac since I was 4 (earliest memory of not being able to sleep). I'll read til the wee sma's, and not think twice about it, even if I'm miserable the next day.

Favorite Movie? Did you not see my lack of movie-going? I like things like Requiem for a Dream. Freaky indie films
Who are you currently listening to? NPR? The last cd I put on was for our party: Ottmar Liebert
Do you have kids/want them? No kids. No desire for them now, but I know people change
Country with the best food (IYO)? I think I've had my best culinary moments in Italy. Or Canada. Goddamn, that pea soup in Victoria was amazing; I went back the next night. Or how about the amuse bouche of scallop with asparagus veloute in Eze, France I just had where I had to twirl a lavender twig to "scent my hands"? Then there was goat curry in Jamaica, scallops in Japan, steak bernaise in Paris. Um, I like food. What was the question, again?
First place you traveled to (outside of the U.S)? I went to the Bahamas before I was 6 months. My family's there. First long-haul flight was to England, part of my high school church choir tour. I consider that my first real international experience.
What color is your hair? I was a white-blond until college, then it started darkening. If I'm honest, it's dishwater blond now Cue the tears.

Engaged @ 25, married on my 26th birthday (not intentional, but it's a gov't holiday, so we hedged our bets)
I'm regular, lemon, thanks for asking! The worst that's happened was the day after I got back from Malawi, and it was the opposite, and I came back just in time for my bff's wedding. Immodium was a life-saver. I'm sure you're all happy I answered that question!
Seriously, though, drink wine and coffee, and none of that stuff is a problem

Your Sarah Palin remark made me LOL. The majority of non-mil friends we've told about Alaska have nearly ALL said ' Maybe you will meet Sarah Palin'. Like that is the most exciting thing that could happen in Alaska. And that they think it would be exciting.....??
It's seriously my "oh, shit, I need to apologize" recipe. I certainly wouldn't do traditional with foie gras.
Edit: I don't bother with the madeira and demi glace sauce. There's so much flavor with the beef juice and gorgonzola it's not needed. But, madeira is similar to port if you want to use it.
Italian coffee is disgusting. I did get wasted on an overnight train to Paris. Then I had Starbucks in france which helped. I actually pooped at the Starbucks. Maybe it was the coffee/wine combo. And then I pooped on the airplane on the way home. And then food tasted like shit for a month after I got back. I'm jealousE of your food travels.

I don't know if you are still answering questions, but if I remember correctly, you graduated from nursing school fairly recently (within the past year or two?) and live in Hawaii. I'm going starting a nursing program in the fall and we're trying to figure out where to go for our next duty station, so I am curious about job opportunities where you are. Have you had any luck finding employment? Any advice regarding this career change?

Lol, ojo. It's actually one of the easiest recipes in the world, but it seems so impressive.
I rarely cook meat, as I haven't eaten it much in the last decade, but I can make that dish.
Funny side note about it: My sister got married, and her bridesmaids did that whole game where they emailed questions to her fiance for the bachelorette party. One of the questions was "what's your favorite dish that [sister] makes?"
My sister doesn't cook, so she answered pizza-dilla, the one thing she makes. His answer was beef wellington. This was b/c when they first moved in together, I was visiting, and I taught her to make it, hoping she'd continue the tradition if she needed an apology meal (I'm a good older sister like that). She never made it again, but it was the best meal he ever had in his home, so he assumed she must have made it and forgot that I was there at the time.
I get constipated when I travel. I spent two weeks in Europe and pooped twice. It was rough.
Have you been to China? you might have the opposite problem! lol
Bahahahah... Yes, stay away from the KFC. Ugh. I've heard some bad stories from people who've eaten there.
I actually felt fine in China, it was coming back to prerved American food that made me ill. We were in western China, so it was different, but delicious.
