T&P's please

DH went back to CA yesterday. Today he called and told me that one of our friends brought her dog to his house. Her intent was for him to shoot the dog because he has antifreeze poisoning. He got loose today and one of their neighbors literally leaves antifreeze out specifically so animals will drink it and die. Wtf dude!? It has killed a couple neighborhood dogs. It has me really angry. Anyway, DH couldn't shoot the dog. He said he doesn't seem to be suffering so DH made him as comfortable as possible and will be watching him through the night. He's pretty upset about all this. Our friend went home cause it had her so upset. DH doesn't think the poor puppy will survive the night. I know pretty much everyone here knows how much like family our pets are so I hope our friend and her family can get some T&P's for this situation.

Yeah, so call animal control if there's a stray dog in your yard. Don't poison them...

I'm aware that the vet is a better place for this dog and I know for as much as we love our dogs DH and I should probably want to do something. The owner can't afford the vet and, with the cost of vet visits in CA, DH and I aren't in a position to pay for a dog that isn't ours when we know we won't ever be repaid. The best thing to do is make the dog drink vodka and lots of it. A friend of mine had a dog that drank some one time and all the vet could do was make him drink the vodka. I know it sounds crazy but it saved him. If you do this he needs to do it for at least 24 hours. Many T&Ps for the puppy

Some vets will care for an animal at low or no cost if the owner agrees to give up ownership to the animal regardless of the outcome.

That's really sad I'm sorry she put your husband in that position

Yes they called the police. They said there have been multiple reports and they're supposedly investigating. I don't know what is going on as far as the vet but our friend is the one who called them.
