Yep. The Bellevue shipping center has fewer than 200,000 different items, mostly media, small electronics, and kitchen gadgets. Amazon alone (not 3-rd party sellers) sells over 1 million different items in a year.
With Prime, stuff gets here from Reno in 2 days, or 1 day if you pay $4 or $5 more.
I think that "Amazon moms & dads" gives you a free Prime membership if you set up monthly consumables shipments (diapers, etc., not sure what's available that's useful for someone Tman's age), plus there's a bunch of streaming video you get w/ a membership.

Now you guys tell me. I will definitely look into it.
amazon mom is free for the first 3 months, whether or not you make kid/baby related purchases. every $25 (i think) you purchase in kids stuff (toys count....but like niq said, don't know how relevant this is to you), extends your membership by one month, up to a full year.
I'm splitting it with 4 other friends I pay about $15 year. Everyone's on their own account and no one sees what the other person is buying.
How does this get set up?
You just need people's bdays and email addresses. You go into your own Prime account and start inviting people. It'll ask you for the relation, but you can select anything. Then an invite goes out to them asking them to confirm and that's it.
