1) Friday Night Lights- Mrs. Coach talking to Julie about sex... "I just really wanted you to wait. Because I love you..." I teared up like crazy. She is such an amazing mom!
2) Mad Men- Joanie playing "C'est Magnifique!" on her accordian. She is so charming and beautiful, but the look she gives Dr. Rapist breaks my heart. here's a link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QN4NyD6l8A
3) New Girl- Winston singing along to "Wicked" in the car on the way to Mexico. I watched it like 15 times the first night it aired, and giggled each time!
I can't think of specific scenes, mostly just episodes. And I doubt I can keep it to 3. But I'll play a bit:
1 - any scene with Max & Penny's mom & baby Halloween costume on Happy Endings
2 - the episode of Breaking Bad where Jesse is at the meth couple's house with the poor little kid, and the guy has the incident with the ATM...truly heartbreaking (the kid, I mean)
3 - "The Suitcase" episode of Mad Men, with all of the Peggy and Don interaction
4 - Desmond calling Penny on the phone in "The Constant" on Lost
5 - the Freaks & Geeks episode where Lindsay gets high while baby-sitting
1) Grey's- Izzie and dead Denny, right after Mer comes back from drowning, they have that moment where they pass each other and pause like they can "feel" each other's presence. I know people hate dead Denny, and for the most part so do I, but I love that scene for some reason.
TBH, 2- 50ish would be Grey's for me (the intro moments with the chief talking, the whole shooting episode, Mer figuring out 007, when people first find out about Ellis' condition, Callie singing the first line of the original theme song, You're My Person, Choose Me, everything Crisitina, George and Evil Spawn, on and on) but I'll add some different shows to keep it interesting.
2) New Girl- "I have the fastest ass in the land!" It still cracks me up. Although I think the Thanksgiving is still my favorite episode overall.
3) Bones- When Booth and Bones say good-bye at the airport. Everything about it is just perfect. Except they didn't kiss, and they totally should have. If your man is going to war, you kiss him! Everything else is sad and sweet and perfect in every way.
Like Grey's, I have several other moments from Bones that I could pick. The ending of Max's trial, Booth stripped down and being wheeled around on the cart as evidence, the first intro of Angie's dad, both Gravedigger abduction episodes, etc. Love this show.
4) Veronica Mars- Homecoming episode where Logan does the memorial video for Lilly. I cry every time. The entire season 1 finale was amazing. Oo.. or the Alterna-Prom when Logan tells Veronica he loves her in that little speech.
There are so many other show moments I could have picked. The Office, BBT, HIMYM, Felicity, Dexter, Once, Glee. This was a really good question.
1) The final scene on the series finale of Six Feet Under, where they all grow old and die.
i never saw the last season. that is how it ended?!
i am going oldschool with friends when monica and chandler are doing "it" at the end of the episode. and ross is apartment shopping across the street...and he looks out the window and can see inside monica's apartment and says, "Get Off my Sister!" lol.
i also LOVED max and penny's halloween costume in happy endings. i giggled about that for quite awhile, i think i even started a thread about it.
Right away the first one I thought of was "Friends" .... when Ross bought a couch, and Rachel and Chandler were helping him carry it up the stairs, and Ross kept yelling "Pivot.....pivot.....pivot..." I am laughing out loud now, as I type this!

Mine is from Friends too. Actually I have a couple from Friends.
When Joey lies on his resume and says he has all kinds of serious dance training, and the guy running the audition actually asks him to teach everyone the steps. Then he returns and Joey taught everyone his awkward little non-dance ending with "steppity step and jazz hands!" Even though I've probably seen that episode 50 times since it originally aired, I still laugh out loud.
I also love when Chandler steals the sex tape from Richard's apartment because it has Monica's name on it. It's playing and Joey completely tackles Chandler to the floor so he doesn't turn and look at the screen, then Monica walks in and Joey yanks her down to the floor too.
I have a hard time picking favorite scenes overall. I rather enjoy the scene in Gilmore Girls where Luke and Lorelai kiss for the first time at the dress rehearsal for the inn and Kirk comes running through naked and screaming. LOL!
Then there is the heart wrenching saddest montage ever at the end of the episode of Futurama about Fry's dog.
My *favorite* Friends episode is the one with the Jeopardy like game where Chandler and Joey win the apartment. So many funny things happened in such a short period of time! That's my absolute favorite TV moment I think of all time.
Lots of Grey's Anatomy ones too. I loved George and it killed me when he died. Man, I have cried a lot at that show.
I loved LOST (well hated the ending, but loved it until the last season). One my favorite eps of all time is the season finale where Charlie drowns. It was SO well done, I was bawling like a baby. When he puts his hand up to Desmond through the window with the writing "Not Penny's Boat". It was SO good!!!
I'll try think of more, but most of the scenes I love the most are the ones that move me to tears.

When I saw the title of the post I immediately thought of a crossover episode of Angel when Buffy visited L.A. and Angel became human but in the end he was a vampire again. The scene where Buffy and Angel were saying goodbye and she was saying she would never forget had me in hysterics.
Another Buffy moment was in the 2nd season when Buffy and Angel were possessed by ghosts and the scene where they are playing out the ghosts love affair was great.
I have another buffy fave but in the interest of diversity... Friends when Chandler says "I am not great at the advice, can I interest you in a sarcastic comment." Gets me everytime!
1. The Slapsgiving episode of HIMYIM 2. The scene in BBT where Penny gives Sheldon the napkin from Spock 3. The episode of Friends where Joey/Rachel/Phoebe try to get Chandler and Monica to out their relationship - particularly the scene when Phoebe goes in topless and says, "This is my bra." lol

I wasn't a big fan of Buffy or Angel, (I mean, the couple yes, but not really the shows) but the whole "I'm like chocolate chip cookie dough that isn't done baking yet" or something is always the first thing to pop in my mind when the shows are brought up.
2.) SATC when Miranda argues with Carrie about moving to Paris with the Russian and they have this conversation:
Carrie: Just admit it - you don't like him Miranda: Fine. I don't like him. Carrie: Then don't YOU go to Paris with him.
3.) The class reunion dance scene from It's Always Sunny
Other considerations - All three Justin Timberlake/Andy Samburg SNL digital shorts, Leslie Knope wins the election on Parks & Rec, Obama's Grant Park victory speech, Kerri Strug's heroic vault at the 1996 Summer Olympics
SNL: pretty much any bit with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. I particularly remember the one where she was doing the debates and kept repeating the word "Maverick" for those playing a drinking game at home. And when she pulled out a flute and said "oh, are we not doing the talent competition?". I die laughing every time I see that...
West Wing - CJ's secret service agent beau is gunned down and President Bartlett converses with the Dubya-esque Republican candidate for President during a broadway show... and he leaves the room telling his opponent, "In case you were wondering, in the future, 'Crime, boy, I don't know' was when I decided to kick your ass."
I loved the West Wing episode that showed how they all ended up working for Bartlett for America.
I loved Josh and the President being shot, and I loved Leo's heart attack and the President asking CJ to jump off a cliff for him.
God, that was SUCH an awesome show.
Friends - I loved the episode, I think it was Thanksgiving, maybe? - where Ross and Monica's parents were there, and Monica was trying to avoid telling them that she and Chandler were living together, but she and Ross got into a fight where they were telling their parents all of the bad things the other had done, culminating in Monica telling them, "Ross married Rachel in Vegas and got divorced. AGAIN!"
I also loved Monica dating Richard's son and inviting him to Thanksgiving where Joey made Chandler stay in a box to think about how bad it was that he had the hots for Joey's girlfriend.
Oh, and Ross and Rachel marking each other's faces with permanent marker, getting drunk in Vegas and then getting married was awesome.
All My Children: 1991, Erica Kane vs. Adam Chandler in an epic food fight/argument in the Plaza hotel in which he broke up her relationship with Jack and confessed his love for her. That scene was so fabulous in so many ways.
Ditto, and no one has even mentioned Joey's head stuck in a turkey! When I think Friends, that's one of the first scenes I think of.
Also surprised no one has mentioned Dexter. When he walks in to find Rita in the tub and Harrison on the floor crying. Or his last kill with Lumen. They do such a good job crafting such intense scenes.
1. I think the ENTIRE episode of One Tree Hill "With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept" is just stunningly amazing. However, The scene with Jimmy and Keith in the hallway at the end gives me shivers and makes me ugly cry.
I can't think of any more because now I am looking at the Wikipedia entry for this episode, haha.
1. Big Bang Theory when Penny gives Sheldon the napkin and he gives her all the gift baskets and then hugs her. or the Bazinga thing in the ball pit (yes, I realize that's 2 lol) 2. Gilmore Girls - when Lorelei and Rory have breakfast at the diner at the end of the finale 3. House - all the parts of the House's Head episode where he's remembering the bus crash and trying to figure out who the woman is

1) Friends episode Season 10 where charlie, joey and rachel go to ross' for dinner and he gets shitfaced on margs because the rachel/joey thing is weird for him..."ahhh love. L-O-V-E love..."
2) Rita in the tub from dexter...my DH hated Rita but it was so sad
3) FNL when Matt sneaks into the funeral home to see his dead dad...when he opens the casket, gaaahhhhh and then when he gets the shovel at the funeral and starts burying his dad. i was inconsolable.
Love this post. It's brought me out of lurker land...
1) FNL--First season. Buddy Garrity is talking to Jason Street about his and Lila's future. He tells him "Oh Lila loves you, she 'd follow you to hell...but are you willing to lead her there." At the time I thought that was the best written line in all of tv history.
2) Gilmore girls--After Rory leaves Richard and Emily's. Lorelai and Emily are on the plane and Lorelai tells Emily, "You didn't lose me."
3) The Office--The wedding episode. The wedding scene. I cry everytime.
Second place: lawn mower scene Honorable mention to the musical performances by Joan and Megan
Thank you for this! I love this list.
To all the Friends lovers out there, I have to wonder what I'm missing here. I liked it when I watched it, but since it's been off the air, whenever I see repeats, I just cringe. For me it'll never stand the test of time like some of these other shows will.

See, I feel the opposite. I still love Friends and other than the fashion, I feel like it's really held up and it will still make me laugh. My H and I watch re-runs of it pretty much daily because it's on so often, and we can always recite our favorite bits and know exactly where we are in the story. Although they do lose me a little with episodes from the last few years, which were kind of meh anyway.
There are some shows that I *loved* when I was younger, for example the [X-Files], that I can't watch now because they just haven't held up. But I don't see Friends ever becoming one of those shows.
I love most of the Friends scenes mentioned as well as the one where Joey finds out about Monica and Chandler. Actually anytime he gives that look I laugh.
I also absolutely love the Penny/Sheldon scene when she gives him the napkin. I'm always willing to re-watch that episode.
Hmm, I'm trying to pinpoint a specific Seinfeld scene. Maybe The Contest when Kramer is watching the lady in another building, goes back to his apartment and comes back after a few minutes and yells "I'm out!" throwing his money on the counter.
The episode of Charmed when they find out Piper's pregnant is a favorite as well.
