So I'm going on a girl's trip to AC in April. Anyone have recommendations on things to do/places to stay? This needs to be an affordable but memorable trip. Thanks!
AC hotels in April shouldn't be too expensive - it's the summer months where they gouge you on room pricing. If anyone in your girls group has a Total Rewards Player's Card, you are almost guaranteed free rooms or VERY cheap rooms on weekends in April. I would start there and look into the Caesers/Ballys/Showboat/Harrahs properties.
There are some pretty dumpy places in AC so do your homework on what you get vs what you are spending. Having no idea what you mean by "affordable" it is hard to suggest somewhere.
As for food, Bobby Flay's Steakhouse (Borgata) is really, really good and the new steakhouse downstairs at the Revel was amazing. The Quarter at the tropicana has some more mid-priced restaurants - PF Changs, Cuba Libre, etc. I don't know much about the club scene, as that ship has sailed for me.
Since you can't go to the beach in April (well, probably not) I'd stay somewhere with a nice indoor pool (Harrahs) or spa (Caesers or Borgata). But that's just me
There are also the shops at Caesers Pier which are nice, and lots of outlets just behind the boardwalk if shopping is your thing.

I went to AC last March for a bachelorette party and even with a Total Rewards membership (but no status) we paid $600 per room for two nights -- so it wasn't so cheap. The guys stayed at Caesar's that weekend and paid around the same as what we did (with better Total Rewards status).
The plus side of Harrah's though is that there's a nice indoor pool inside an atrium so you can lounge by the pool all day even in cool weather. Borgata/Water Club have the same kind of deal (but would likely be more expensive).
I've stayed at Bally's before and, unless things have seriously changed in the last five years, would not stay there again. When we went our room had a blown out lightbulb, and our friends' room hadn't been cleaned from the prior guests yet (and this was at night). Housekeeping wasn't available for hours, so we all had to get ready for dinner in our dark room. And the hotel was kind of a dump otherwise.
Borgata was nice, but definitely not worth what we paid (we paid $500 to stay there on a Saturday night in March, but that was back when the economy was good -- I think it is much cheaper now).
Revel is supposed to be REALLY nice, but I haven't been yet -- it opened right after my last trip. But I'd imagine it is the most expensive option (though maybe not ... I don't think it is doing well).
sorry, i guess i should have qualified that more re: total rewards card. you do have to have some current activity / play level to get comped rooms, but definitely don't have to be a high roller to get these rates. March would be a little pricier I'd imagine due to March Madness, St Pattys, etc.
And... the Revel is AWESOME - definitely spend some time there!
Hotel rooms on the weekend won't be cheap, especially at the casinos. If staying at a casino hotel isn't a must, you might consider the Chelsea. I stayed there a year or so ago when I was in AC with my mom for a concert. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, I pricelined it for 1/3 the price of the casino hotels. It's right on the boardwalk a short walk from the Tropicana/Trump/Ceasars and Ballys.
My favorite place to stay in AC is Harrah's. They're pool is awesome. We always went during the week so we got really cheap rates. One time we only paid $20/night and they upgraded us to the newsest wing.
