I know someone who did customer service for an airline from home (Virgin I think...). I also recently heard Comcast has work from home customer service jobs.
My husband is a software developer and works 100% from home. He found this job through a friend of his he had worked for a long time ago, and was part of the job negotiation. My aunt works from home I think essentially as a corporate travel agent.
I am looking for something I can do on the side while going to school but without actual time frames. Just getting the job done by a certain date. There are some days where I can't do anything but study but other days I sit around. Is there a certification needed for medical transcription?
Do you write? Or do web design? What are your skills? There are some freelance positions available.
I do not, I did insurance verification for a long time but that's about it. I am going to school for Radiology Technician so I am very comfortable with the medical field. But will also do customer service.
When I worked in medical claims processing, there were several people working at home at the time, but you do need to stick to certain hours.
My exbf's mom used to do sidework for passport unlimited in kirkland "100%" from home. She just needed to pick/up drop off work whenever she was done. She did data entry, and was paid per entry.

You do need training (and certification/testing, etc) to do medical transcription, and it costs money and takes about 9 months or so. You can do it correspondence, but I don't think that's what you're looking for. You might want to check with some insurance companies to see if you can do customer service or something like that from home since you have experience there.
