What do you like to do? We took a day trip to Hill of Tara (meh, but it would have been nice in nicer weather) and Trim Castle (lived it). We also really enjoyed the Rural Pub Crawl. My favorite things in the city were the Gaol and just cruising around the pubs.
For Dublin Loved Kilmainham Gaol. We learned so much about Ireland's history. It also happened to be free when we went (first Wed of the month), but it's well worth the 6eu. It's a ways to walk there from Guinness though. I'd probably rec taking a cab or bus (we learned from experience).
We did Guinness and Jameson. Guinness was much better layout than Jameson, but we were glad to have done both. Hint: if you put your tickets online (we did using their wifi on location with my iphone), you can save a little bit of money.
We also paid 6eu to tour Dublin Castle; no one in our group of 4 thought it was worth it.
Despite being a tourist trap, we really liked Temple Bar (the actual bar). We're into craft beer so we also liked Porthouse (in Temple Bar; brew their own beer) and Bull and Castle. Bull and Castle had a cool German-themed almost upstairs with a great beer list. The restaurant on the main floor was delicious.

We are only there 3 days (we are living in Germany and its just a short weekend trip) and staying right downtown by the Temple Bar area.
I will def check out the blog. Guinness is high on Hubby's list and we are thinking of doing a tour to the Cliffs of Moher with Paddy Wagon Tours. Other wise its just touring the area.
I know we won't do a castle. They are all over where we live..lol. My kids are all castled out. The don't know how good they have it.
Little side note about that. My 11 yr old was invited to a bday party the weekend we go. I told her she can't go cuz we will be in Ireland. Her response?
We really liked Dublin. It's very walkable and lovely. Our only regret was that we didn't know how much we would enjoy the Guinness in Ireland so we skipped the storehouse tour while there. We did enjoy seeing the Book of Kells at Trinity College, Kilmainham Gaol, St. Michans church, and Christchurch Cathedral.
We did see the cliffs later in our trip and they were fantastic, but if you're looking for a day trip perhaps a little closer to Dublin, I highly recommend Glendalough.
If you can get to the Cliffs, DEFINITELY go, it was one of my favorite days of the trip. The castles and everything are cool, but overall my two favorite days were when we were on the west coast and all of the scenery there.
I'll be blogging about that today or tomrw (and will try to remember to post on here when I do).
