The internet sucks in Australia. You're actually more likely to find free internet in a cheaper hotel. And there are fewer places with free wifi.
Don't forget that the restaurant prices include tax and tip, so the price on the menu is 30% lower on an American menu, making a $30 main $20 in American menus.
Sounds like you had a great trip. I always like Sailors Thai in Sydney, the prices always seem reasonable for the Rocks area! Its good to hear your review on Lizzard Island, I'd heard bad things in the past (2+ years ago) but everything I've from about them recently sounds great.
SYDNEY - We did the Bronte to Bondi coastal walk - the walk is beautiful but if you want to do it without throngs of people everywhere, I'd go first thing in the morning. There are about 100 sculptures and art installations along the walk, and it gets to be a real cluster around them. You can pick up a brochure to learn about the artwork on display, or you can use your phone for a free audio guide. We walked from Bronte to Bondi because we wanted to get lunch in Bondi, but if I did it again I'd walk Bondi to Bronte and then continue on to the next beach (I think it's Coogee?) in hopes of finding fewer people.
I just wanted to add that it isn´t always like this. It´s only once a year- Sculpture by the Sea. It´s cool you got to catch this.
OP did you eat at Melba inside the Langham in Melbourne? A friend was just talking about how awesome the buffet is. I want to know if it's worth the cash.

We did not as we were dealing with severe jet lag and rarely made it to breakfast - we ate the breakfast buffet at the Langham in Auckland and that was really good, but there's just no breakfast that's worth $40+ a person to me. They did have crepes, eggs benedict, made-to-order omelets, scrambles, bacon, sausage, cheese, meats, etc., and it was really good.
Someone earlier in this thread did say the buffet at Melba's was delicious, I think.
I haven't been for a number of years but i think it's worth it. $40 is about average for an Aust hotel anyways...
