I haven't had a pity party in a while, but with the week I've had, I need one. First, I was prepping for a CT Scan of my sinuses to see about a sinus surgery (I've had 20 sinus infections in the past two years). Originally they thought they would have to take out my tonsils and adenoids, because I was also getting strep all the time on top of the sinus infections. But the strep seemed to stop a year ago and they decided to do a less invasive sinus surgery -- until I got strep on Monday, so now the removal of the tonsils and adenoids might be back on the table and I hear the recovery from that one for an adult is about a week out of work.
So the doc Monday gave me antibiotics for the strep, but I wasn't allowed to take them until last night after my CT Scan because the ENT didn't want anything to potentially change the current "normal" state of my sinuses. So Monday - Wednesday I couldn't eat solid food because it hurt to swallow.
Then I get home from my CT Scan last night start resting on my couch and get a call from my mom in a panic -- her best friend's husband died unexpectedly. We have been friends with this family for like 30 years. We grew up doing things together all the time. They have no idea how he died. So my parents had to leave town to help her out. It's just crazy.
On top of that, fi has been out of town all week for work and I never sleep well when he isn't there. So I haven't been sleeping. Luckily he comes home tonight, so sleep will start again
Can I join you in this pity party? My knee/calf is all kinds of fucked up (I have an ortho appointment in a bit) and the pain has been almost unbearable since late Sunday. I've barely slept. To add to that, my job has gone from general suckitude to quantum suckitude this week. I'm cranky. And on a diet.

Sorry to hear all this AK
If you have any questions about sinus surgery (I assume they are thinking of doing FESS in addition to possibly T&A?), message me. I've worked for ENTs for a long time and know a lot about the healing and post-op care, etc.
