DS: gained 32lbs. Lost about 27lbs in the first 6wks. The last came off when I weaned at 1 yr.
DD: gained 25. Lost 20ish in the first month, last 5 came off around 9mos pp.
I don't know if it was from BFing or not, as I do also eat a ton more when BFing. I will say that my body seems to just self regulate very well, to the point that I seem to always return to the same weight I was in HS. I do think I'm slightly more muscular this time pp, but I attribute that to pushing both kids in the jogging stroller when we go out.

I'm 5'6", weighed about 132 when I got pg.
Worked out the whole time (30-45 mins cardio, weight training 4-5 days a week). Ate really healthy - craved fruit and salad. Gained 42lbs in 36 weeks, had the baby early.
I did not BF.
Lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks. Lost another 12 by the time I went back to work at 14 weeks. I walked and tried to watch what I ate. I also did 30 day shred, but not consistently.
Lost 5 more when I got back to work in a couple of weeks.
Last 5 hung on until DD was about 9 months old and I started running. I didn't try too hard - i just tried to watch what I ate, but didn't really "diet".
I'm almost 20 weeks pg with #2, and have gained 10 lbs so far. I'm hoping to keep the weight gain under better control this time.
Your ligaments relax. Mine went back, but not everyone's do. Some women get permanently bigger feet, too.
Yep, this. I gained 2" in my hips by 16w.
I gained 32lbs, down 22 at 4w and at PP weight at 8w. I ate decently and started walking at 1w PP. We got up to 4 miles a day while I was on leave, but that was more because I was desperate to get out of the house than losing the weight. My walks most days ranged from 2-4 weeks. I also started running again at 3w PP with my doctor's blessing (said I could start when I felt like it).
I know I was extremely lucky, I had no issues losing the weight.
I could literally feel pain at the end from my hips widening. Also as a surprise, your rib cage expands too and there is no way to estimate that growth. I had some sleep/nursing bras that I couldn't wear shortly PP that I can wear comfortably on the smallest latch. Also I had to have a BM dress completely reassembled to wear at 34 weeks because my rib cage was too wide. I was completely all baby and ordered the dress around 12w (basically the same measurements I had PP) but still underestimated the growth.
I gained 22lbs with this last pregnancy. Lost it all by 10 days pp but then proceeded to gain 10 while home on maternity leave for 3 months.
Breast feeding makes me ravenous. I feel like I'm constantly in starvation mode. I've tried weight watchers twice and have given up based on the distraction of my hunger. I'm convinced I'm one of those people that hold on to weight while BFing. Blah
I gained 55 lbs and I lost it all by around 8 months pp. Of course my body looks nowhere near the same. I don't exercise much, I just tried to eat healthy.
With DD 1 - I gained 57 pounds, Took a year to lose it all. Then took 8 months or so to lose another 15+ pounds, then I got pregnant...
With DD2 - I gained 47 pounds, I'm 10 months pp and have about 3 pounds to get to my pre pregnancy weight with her. I'm still nursing so I'm not to concerned about these last few pounds. Plus this time of year is really hard for me to eat super healthy! I will try to maintain through the holidays and then re-evaluate in January.

Gained 42lbs. I was lucky and the first 30 was off by 6w pp. the next 5 came off over about 2 months. The last 7 took work. I started working out closer to my regular schedule (4+days/wk) and watched the diet. I was at pre-preg weight at 9 months pp. My boobs are smaller and my stomach has a bit more of a pooch, but my clothes fit well and I'm still comfortable in a bikini, so all in all, I'm happy.
I gained ~12 pounds from immediately pre-pregnancy, but I got pregnant right after Christmas and a trip to Maui, so I was up about 5 pounds over my "normal" weight. I'm 23 days post-partum right now, and am down 25 pounds, so I'm actually close to 10 pounds below my normal pre-pregnancy weight. Those 25 pounds all dropped off in the first two weeks. I assume breastfeeding helped me lose it, but I definitely was not making an effort to shed so quickly. I eat a lot lately just to maintain my weight and not feel like I'm starving.

I gained 17lbs with DD thanks to the GD diet + exercise to keep my blood sugars in check. I was down that by the time I left the hospital.
Then my milk came in, I went from an F to a HH, and my body decided to gain and hold on to an extra 10-15lbs while I BF. I did not lose it until I weaned DD at 28 months (it stuck thorugh hardcore exercise, diet changes, etc). I also had wider hips and wider feet.
I could literally feel pain at the end from my hips widening. Also as a surprise, your rib cage expands too and there is no way to estimate that growth. I had some sleep/nursing bras that I couldn't wear shortly PP that I can wear comfortably on the smallest latch. OMG THIS! I felt so robbed. I have tiny boobs (not even an A) and they didn't get ANY bigger AT ALL with DD. However, I had to buy bigger bras due to my giant rib cage. By the end I was using a bra extender at the end to get the bigger bras on. It never went completely back to normal for me, either.
I am sitting in a corner all butt hurt that everyone's weight melts off with BFing.
Whhhhhhy must my body make me work at this. :-)
::sits in the corner with eddy:: BFing makes me hungry. I gained 60 lbs, and lost 30 w/i the first few weeks (I would have to change the sheets in the middle of he night, they were so soaked). I haven't weighed myself recently, but I am probably down 35 lbs. I was a size 8-10 pp, and I just bought my first post baby jeans, size 16.
I gained 30 lbs during pregnancy. I lost 20 within the first 8 weeks postpartum. I did not lose the last 10 until DD weaned at 14 months. By the time she was about 18 months I was 10 lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight and I have stayed there since.
Edit: I'll put numbers. I was 120 pre-pregnancy. Went up to about 153 during the pregnancy. Stayed between 130 and 135 until 14 months. By 18 months I bottomed out at about 112 and I am currently at 112.

With #1, I gained about 27 lbs. Lost it all by 4-5 weeks PP, but I don't recommend my method...I turned out to have post-partum thyroiditis. Amazing what hyperthyroidism can do for your weight loss, among other things.
With #2, I gained 22 lbs. That took longer to lose. To start with, I left the hospital only 2 lbs. down despite having given birth to a 6 lb. 10 oz. kid, because I was so bloated from all the fluids I'd been given. It took about 3 months total to lose the weight. I did it through good old healthy eating and exercise. My first PP walk was around the maternity floor the day after DD was born, and I went for my first run at 2.5 weeks PP. I wasn't able to BF either of my girls due to latch issues so that wasn't a factor for me.

With #1 I gained 45#....I was down to pp weight at 6 months and 15# under it by 18 months...but my body was a sloppy floppy mess however, I went on vacation to Dubai for 6 weeks ( and got pregnant) so my starting weight for my second pregnancy was exactly the same. Crazy.
With .#2 I gained 50# and as of right now, I am down 40. Hoping to lose another 30-40 to be a healthy weight for my frame. Breast feeding dosent actually help me lose, it seemed like every time dd weaned a little I dropped abt 5#. I'd like to see what happens when I actually wean. I nursed dd until I was pregnant again at 27 months.

I am 5'11", weighed 153 pre-pregnancy. Gained 37lbs. I was back to pre-preg weight by 2wks pp, which is obviously kinda weird and atypical. I EBF.
Now (5mo pp) I'm about 2-5 lbs below pre-preg weight depending on how well I'm doing eating enough or if I've been exercising. Body looks different though - jeans fit a bit snugger and I've got a belly pooch.
I gained 35ish w/both (to be fair, it was maybe 5 lbs. more w/#2, but I started out about that same amount lighter w/#2 so my end point was almost exactly the same w/both: I think my body just has a 'happy' pg weight b/c it gravitated right back the second time around.)
I wasn't one of those people that was back in my pp jeans at 2 weeks or even 2 months: the loss was really steady, if not dramatic from week to week. By 7 mos. after #1, though, I was 5 lbs. under my pre-preg weight and wearing my smallest jeans by then.
I have to give some of the credit to BFing: b/c I was BFing, I didn't restrict my diet other than just trying to eat as healthfully as I could, so no 'dieting' and I exercised some, but nothing extreme.
DD1-gained 40-45, lost all but 10 but it took a year or so, I did not BF
DD2-gained 35, lost all but 5ish, BF
DD3-gained 30...didn't loose a pound for a year. I had anemia & undiagnosed hypothyroidism post partum. I lost 20 on thyroid meds & another 25 via dieting (so ended up within a few pounds of my original prepregnancy weight.
We have been eating recipes mostly from skinnytaste.com and emilybites.com. Both are great and I haven't felt like I am on a diet or felt deprived at all.

I gained 27 lbs. I tried really hard to not eat a lot of extra food and to eat healthy.
I lost about 20 lbs in the first 10 days. I've gone down about 4 more in the next week. I'm still about 3 lbs heavier than my starting weight, which is 5 lbs higher than my ideal weight.
I am lucky, because I haven't really done much to try and lose the weight other than breastfeeding. I do think a lot of this has to do with your genes. I know people who have been much healthier and worked much harder than me who haven't lost weight as quickly.
I also agree with the people who say that even at a lower weight their body isn't the same.
I gained 30 lbs and lost it slowly over 9 months. For me, it just took time. Around 6 months pp, I finally started feeling like I might get back to normal someday. It certainly did not melt off. I BF, but I also eat like garbage and rarely exercise.
Also, like Token, I was so swollen when I came home from the hospital that I hadn't really lost any weight yet. I think I was down 5 lbs despite the fact that I gave birth to a 7 lb baby. So depressing!

I am also not one of those lucky ladies. Weight loss was hard for me before babies and after babies.
With DS, I started my pregnancy at a healthy weight, exercised throughout pregnancy and gained 35 pounds, I lost it all by 4 mos. PP through healthy eating and exercise.
But then I went on and gained 10 pounds anyway, got pregnant with DD and gained 40 pounds. I lost the thirty pounds within a few months but it took me a few years to get back to my healthy weight. I hated those extra twenty pounds and I'm petite so they showed, but it was so hard! I needed personal training AND Weight Watchers. Can't say enough about heavy lifting and WWers. I now am at my goal weight, I can wear a bikini and I barely have my pooch (but it is there a bit and I am not interested in surgery) and I feel much more confident.
I don't think I'll lose another five pounds to get back to my wedding weight but with all my lifting, I think my dress would fit anyway and I can eat real food. I am thankful but it took me close to five years!
I gained 16 with my DD, lost all of it plus some doing nothing but BF. i was slightly overweight according to BMI to start, about a size 10. When I got pregnant with my DS, I was 6 lbs under my original weight. I gained 25 lbs. He's 8 months and I think I'm up about 3 lbs from where I was before this pregnancy, down 3 or so overall. I can fit in all my old clothes, but things have certainly rearranged themselves lol. I have a bit of work to do.
I'm not doing anything to specifically lose weight until DS weans, but I am way healthier now that I have kids. I think the calorie saving alone from not drinking beer excessively has made the most difference lol. Plus, I'm hauling around 2 kids and a double stroller when I'm not chasing them around the house. When I'm cooking for my DD, I'm more aware of what I'm choosing to put in her body than I ever was when I was just cooking for me and my DH, so we're all doing a little better now.
DD: gained 35, lost 20 within the first month pp, gained 5 back from breast feeding. Weaned at 12 months. Lost 20 lbs in 2 months. Got BFP.
DS: gained 50, lost 20 within first month. Joined WW and dropped another 15 for a wedding I was in (was really hard to get it off). Quit WW. Gained 15 back. DS is 15 months and I'm still breast feeding. I am one of the unlucky ones whose body hold onto everything while breast feeding.
I started at 175 and ended up at 210/215 by delivery date, I was back ot 175 by 2 months pp DD didn't drop into my pelvis until delivery so luckily my hips stayed the same.
I put on relatively little weight and didn't have much trouble losing it (though it came off a little quicker with DS1 than DS2). But my hips definitely got wider. It's sad really.
