Hi Pugz! Yes, he does; we're on cast three now, actually--we started when he was one week old. His foot is quite flexible and is responding great, so we hope to be done with casting by the end of November, and then he'd be in a brace for three months, 23 hours per day. After that he'd wear the brace overnight until he's two. He doesn't even seem to notice the cast. Here's a picture from the day of his first cast:
Awww... I was a casted club-foot baby. He's adorable.
I ended up needing surgery, and even then, it is such a non-issue as an adult. Even as a kid. I walked at 13 months, right after they got everything out of the way.
Thanks, everyone! I think he's pretty adorable. And yes, he's getting big really quickly; he was born 7 lb. 12 oz., only dropped to 7 lb. 9 oz. by the time we went home, and as of last Monday (19 days) he was already up to 9 lb. 2 oz. Quite the little chunk!

This is so great to hear! I didn't know this about you. I know the process upsets me far more than it does him. I'm kind of dreading the night bracing when he's old enough to realize that he doesn't like it, but even so it's only until he's two.
my nephew did really well with the night bracing. I think he was so used to people messing with his foot/leg since he was born that it didn't really phase him. His feet look perfect now (both were clubbed) and he runs and plays like any normal 2 year old
he was a spring baby so instead of pants they just put baby legs over the casts. Super cute!
He is adorable! Are you doing his castings at SCH? I have a friend that her son was born in September and was born with club foot and has been doing the casting as well.

Yep! Wonder which doctor your friend is working with. We've had two appointments with Dr. Jinguji and one with Mowery. I love the staff there, and will say that I see kids with much more serious problems than ours each time we're there, which really puts things in perspective.

I feel the same way. I love the staff there. Our craniofacial doctors have been absolutely wonderful! I always try to remember that ours isn't as serious as some.
