I need a true red lipstick.

I'm on a quest for true, blood red, 1950's style lipstick and I CANNOT find anything that doesn't fade to pink tones almost immediately. I thought UD's "Gash" was going to be great at first, but it turned pinkish within an hour. Recommendations?

Do you use a lip primer? If not, you really should, especially when using such a rich color. That might help with the fade to pink/orange you've been experiencing.

I'd look at Union Red (lip cover) and Military Red (matt) from Burberry.

I'm on my phone, but that color looks darker to me than a classic 1950s red. Mac Dubonnet is a nice, darker red similar to the swatch you posted. If you are wanting a brighter, vintage red try Mac Russian Red.
