I can't remember when diapers slowed down, but around your baby's age I think it was just about every feeding. When it got irregular, it wasn't anymore than a normal largish diaper. Definitely not uncontainable.
C poops about once every other day now. It is massive, orange and smells like sour milk. Whoever said EBF poop was odorless lied. We had to retire our NB CDs because they couldn't handle the volume.
Conveniently, he only poops while riding in the car. Yay.

DD would poop every 2-3 days when she was EBF. Her poops were watery/seedy, and they were MASSIVE. Like, all the way up her back, and almost into her hair. Soooo awful and disgusting. Total blowouts, and it didn't matter how tight you put the diaper on, or how quickly you responded to the poop (it didn't take 5 minutes to seep out or anything). The crazy poops stopped when she started solids.
My little guy is headed down this path. He pooped on Thursday for the first time in 6 days. Before that he had gone 5 days without pooping. He had two massive blowouts within an hour of each other. They were totally contained by his diaper, but we used some serious amounts of wipes to get him cleaned up. We will see how long this lasts.

Ds has just started pooping every 2-3 days. And yes the diapers are FULL. and it squishes all up his back when he's in disposables. And it seems slightly thicker too. nasty.
Yeah when they're young EBF babies poop a lot b/c of their immature digestive system, everything literally goes right through. Once their digestive system matures, they process more nutrients and whatnot out of the BM so there's less waste, and hence they start pooping less. DS poop about every other day, and most are like what Brie described. They definitely got smellier once he started solids.
DS pooped daily or multiple times per day until he was bout 2.5 months and then suddenly he stopped. He hadnt gone in over a week and I panicked and gave him some prune juice. It worked ASAP and filled 2 diapers. He's now a 1-2 times a week pooper and there is a lot that comes out. If he's in a rocker or bouncer at daycare, they usually have to change his clothes because it comes up his back.
ETA: yeah I agree about the smell and consistency. Ex-SIL always said her baby's poo didn't smell because she was ebf but DS has some disgusting smells.
Around 4 months DS started popping about three to four times a week. They are a little bigger than his previous ones but not too bad. They usually happen at daycare lol.
Around 3 months, DD had a period where she was only going every 7ish days. I think the longest stretch was 12 says. She started looking like she was in pain, so we had to intervene with glycerin suppositories. It wasn't that much more than a normal poop, but she tended to have 2 slightly larger than usual poops before she wouldn't go for another week. Then she started daycare and immediately got diharreha and after that became more of an every other day pooper.
Around 6 weeks DD went from pooping every single time she nursed to pooping once a week. After my initial freak out, it was GLORIOUS. Yes, it was a huge poop, and it took a lot of wipes, but it didn't leak. And it was only once a week. She stayed a once a week pooper for maybe 5 months.
I was sad when DS never became a once a week pooper. He was never a 10x a day pooper like DD when he was tiny either.
I'd it bad that I don't remember? I know she rarely had blowouts (like maybe 3 ever) and I know for awhile she went once every couple of days. I'm thinking the poop was a lot thicker (pb) and more concentrated.
My kid pooped about 10 times a day at first, and now at 4 months is at about 3 times a day. She is EBF. So, your kid might never turn into a once a week pooper.
It weirds me out that up to twelve or so days is a perfectly normal period for a BF baby to go without a BM, even though I've read that multiple times. I'm afraid I'll panic a bit if E starts going more than two days or so without pooping. However, I love that he seems to have stopped pooping in the middle of the night. I absolutely hate having to unswaddle and do a diaper change at 3 a.m., then try to get him calmed back down enough to fall right back to sleep. I hope this pattern sticks!

DD was like this, not always, but every few months or so. She'd save it up for a week, then have a huge blowout. We lost a couple onesies due to cutting her out of them!
To this day, she struggles with pooping regularly.

heh, my dude is 11 months old and goes about 1x every day or two. Sometimes more often. We call them poop patties because they are still soft but he pretty much sits in them until we smell them. So they form little cowpies.
He did go 5 days once at about age 4 months. I eventually gave him a glycerin suppository because he was uncomforable. It had impacted inside his little rear. It took two suppositories but then it was bath worthy poops for about 6 hours.
