Who's hunkering down for the hurricane? I don't have to work Mon or Tues, so I'll be hanging out at home, hoping the electricity doesn't go out. I'm stocked up on books and soup. H may or may not be here- depends on whether he can get to work or not.
The neighbors haven't taken their stuff down out of their yard yet- hopefully they will soon, as I'd rather not have a birdfeeder flying through my window tomorrow! How do they not know about the storm??

Yikes. Sounds like you'll be safe and warm regardless, but yeah, flying birdfeeders=bad news bears!
I've been through a couple of small hurricanes...they aren't fun, but the ones I experienced were just wet and windy; nothing scary. Hope you're spared any real troubles.

We are in central NJ (about 10 miles from water) and we are hunkering down. My school district is closed tomorrow and Tuesday and DH is going to work from home. I just hope we have no damage and no power outages!! Please pray for us in NJ!!!
We're getting prepared here in DC, just started raining.
Thankfully (I hope!) we live in a very urban area with few trees and in a high-rise building so I think the chances that we'll lose power is slim.
I braved the grocery store earlier, and thanks to our 'hood full of 20-something drunks, the only thing totally wiped from the shelves were Pop-tarts, Red Bull, and Bud Light lime, lol.

lol just wanted to add that I also love pop tarts! Cherry and strawberry are best. I don't like those funky flavors like s'mores and cookie dough. I rarely buy them though, because they're about as healthy as a whole in the head. Sad for me!

Ok I think it's time I share this story. When I was a kid, I was snacking on frosted pop tarts one day after school. The pop tart was not sufficiently iced...there was like one little stripe down the middle. I was like WTF? So I called the number on the box (satisfaction guaranteed!) and complained and I got coupons for free pop tarts. LOL my mom still never lets me live that one down!!

I'm in central NJ - it's just a TON of scary, gusty winds (70mph) and I'm watching my big trees nervously. THe rain has actually be pretty light. That bitch Sandy is going to hit the coast of NJ in about an hour or so. The worst is yet to come, and she's a big storm. Pray for us!
