Ladies, I'm looking for a recommendation for a lightweight liquid foundation, pretty please. I would like something under $30 and it needs to come from a place that they can match the color for me. I can't pick my own color, it never, ever matches.
When I went to Sephora they steered me to Philosophy's color corrector instead. While I like the color corrector, I don't want to use it on my whole face. I would love to have something specific in mind when I go shopping again.
If a pic of me would help, let me know and I will post one.
I think it might be more than $30, but I really like my NARS - it offers good coverage while still feeling lightweight. I use the oil-free version because I'm prone to an oily t-zone, but they also have a version that gives a bit of a glow.
Have you just used a tinted moisturizer? I also really like UD TM and Laura Mercier TM. I layer them over a primer.

I wasn't sure about using a tinted moisturizer b/c I've finally gotten my skin under control and didn't want to upset the moisture balance.
I adore my Nars tinted moisturizer. It's very lightweight, but has a decent amount of coverage. It's a little yellow-based, which corrects the redness in my cheeks perfectly. It isn't heavy like a moisturizer, so I don't think you'd have issues.
If you go to Sephora, have them make you samples of a couple different shades. I'm Finland, which is the lightest. It looks crazy pale in the bottle, but it blends out perfectly.

I recently went to Sephora and was color matched to MUFE liquid foundation. Previously I had been using MAC but didn't feel that the color really matched my skin tone but at Sephora, they tried different brands until they found the right one.
I'm extremely happy with my MUFE foundation. It may be a little more than $30 but it is money well worth it.

Thanks for the recommendations ladies!
Swizzlestx: I did go to Sephora and ask for liquid foundation before and instead got a color corrector, which is great but not really what I wanted. I use it, but more in specific areas, I don't like it all over.
Carrots: I do use a moisturizer daily, from the Rhonda Allison line. I have combination (dry/oily) skin and am really happy to have a combo that works so I don't have breakouts all over anymore.
Right now my routine is wash, witch hazel for toner, antioxidant serum & moisturizer. Then I use the Philosophy's color corrector in spots, followed by Sephora's Pressed Powder Foundation all over. Eyes, blush, etc from there.
I still think adding a little liquid foundation into your moisturizer might work for you...try Sephora again and be firm about what you want. Or maybe try a MU counter like Clinique or Bobbi Brown. I've had great luck at the Bobbi Brown counter, but also like Clinique b/c I have acne prone/sensitive skin.
Thanks Carrots, I think I will try the Clinique counter. I might try Sephora again but go to a different location, they are pretty pushy at my normal one. Most of my makeup is Clinique but I started trying Sephora and other brands after reading all the make up posts on MM
After I get some, I will try adding it to my moisturizer like your suggesting, it's so hot here that anything heavy feels miserable to me.
My foundation is the bomb...but it is a little over your $$$ limit. ($47) But, it lasts about a year, so really, I think it is pretty affordable when you are only buying it 1x a year.
I'll tell you what it is even though it is more than you are looking to spend, because I love it that much. It is just as "light" as any tinted moisturizer I have ever tried, but has way better coverage. I went to Sephora tons of times, and they kept steering me towards Bobby Brown TM, Laura Mercier TM, but honestly, I really didn't feel like they did anything for the redness in my face. Finally, someone showed me Dior foundation. It's awesome! www.sephora.com/diorskin-nude-natural-glow-hydrating-makeup-spf-10-P230421?skuId=1142116
