Dogs and pooping

My dog used to poop 2 times per day like clockwork (7am and 5 pm). On his first birthday he began not pooping when I took him out in the morning. He'd go 1-2 hours later. It's annoying that he doesn't go right when I take him out now. Is it just because he's getting older? What type of dog do you have and how often does she/he poop? I'm wondering if maybe once a day will be enough as he gets older.

Ours are adults and go twice a day. It may be that you changed his feeding schedule slightly or that he needs to walk around a little to work up to it.

Cosmo is 7, and poops on a schedule, always right after she eats, and usually one other time per day. Doby is 3, and he usually poops 2 times a day, but its sporadic. Neither of them ever have accidents in the house, they just go pee and sometimes poop when they are let outside for potty breaks

Our Beagle mix poops 1-2 times per day. I don't worry about it if he's at least pooped once.

But I don't think you should expect your pup to be able to poop at the same time every day. Lord knows I can't poop at the same time every day.
