I really want to get a scale for the kitchen. Anyone have any recommendations?
I have Alton Brown's baking book and he had suggested 2 or 3, but when I looked those up on Amazon, they had rather mixed reviews so then I got gun-shy and confused.
I would like one that does English/metric, has a tare, easy to clean, not a bajillion dollars, and weighs to 0.05 gm. (although I've been told that makes it a bajillion dollars, so I guess I'd settle for 0.5 grams)
The one I have at home is nice, and easy to clean, but it only measures to the nearest gram . I'd check the ATK website or maybe consumer reports if you already have a subscription.

I have a teeny-tiny one and it works like a charm. It does grams and ounces, and I think it was around $30. It's this on in midnight black. I don't think it goes to 0.5gm, but I'm not sure anything you're cooking will need to be weighed with that much accuracy. It's worked well for me and my baking needs! It is kinda small, though, so as long as you can balance a bowl on it and tare it out, you're good.
