All of my kids have snotty noses. Besides saline drops, nose frieda and some time sitting in a steamy bathroom anything else I should be doing? My DS has never really been sick and he has it the worse. I have seen those Dr Hyland's baby cold tablets and wonder if they work?
Humidifier in the bedroom, raise head of crib (I just put something under the mattress, but often he rolls down or refuses to sleep that way anyway). Vicks makes a Baby Rub - I think the camphor in regular is bad for little ones.
I think Hylands = voodoo, so I wouldn't bother. If they start coughing, you can try honey.
Ditto the humidifier and vicks on the feet. We can definitely tell a difference. Also, limiting milk before bed (water instead) as the creamy dairy makes mucus worse.
I know several people who swear by putting an onion cut in half in their kids' rooms when the kids have a cough. They say the rooms smells like a pizza in the morning but it works wonders for the cough. We haven't had the opportunity yet, but I plan to try it next time we are dealing with a nighttime cough.
