I am having a frustrating TTC Day and need to vent before I explode.
I had my Day 3 Blood Work last week, on CD5. I was out of town when I started my period, and my GYN said anywhere between CD 3 and 5 would be fine.
My HSG was scheduled for Wednesday.
My GYN called this a.m. and said she needs to cancel it, since I've already ovulated.
EXCEPT that I was so afraid I'd already ovulate by the test and ruin a perfectly good embryo (assuming that this month I actually got pregnant, which I figured was a looooong shot) that I've not had sex ALL MONTH. Plus, my H has his SA tomorrow, so this weekend was out anyways (they said no sex for 72 hours in advance).
I'm just all upset because now THIS month is a lost month AND next month will be a lost month, since we'll be doing my HSG next month. I know two months (in the grand scheme of life) is not a huge deal, but ugh.

Ugh, I feel like time is enemy #1 when TTC. When youre really ready its SO annoying to delay things for whatever reason. I find out my cd3 bloodwork results this Thursday.
An HSG is (essentially) an x-ray of your uterus, fallopian tubes, and the areas around them. Pretty much a dye is injected, then they review your insides to make sure that everything is there, shaped right, connected, etc.
Your blood work & charts can reflect that you're ovulating, but if your fallopian tubes don't lead to your ute, it won't matter! (or, a blockage in a tube, etc.)
Gotcha, thanks for explaining! Why does it make you not able to TTC that cycle? Is it the dye or something?
Mostly it's that if an embryo implants before the test, you'll likely lose it when you have the test. A better safe than sorry type thing. You're supposed to have the test before you ovulate. I ovulated early.
