Just curious... who here drinks coffee or coffee-type drinks?
H and I never drank coffee even after our bambino was born in July. Then H left for OTS in Sept and I laughed tonight on the phone when he mentioned he was drinking 2 cups of coffee a day... and I have been going to Starbucks pretty often myself ever since he left. Taking care of a baby and two crazy dogs is exhausting! So it looks like a coffee maker for our home is in our near future!
I make or buy a latte almost everyday! There are some seriously awesome coffee shops here but they are way more expensive than those in the states. Our favorite place is about $6 for a regular size latte!
We have a regular drip machine, a moka pot, and a french press. We like coffee
Get a Keurig!!!! We love ours:-) H drinks maybe two cups of coffee a day. I don't really drink coffee that much (don't like the taste) but I love tea, and there is a HUGE selection of different K-cups. Our commissary even carries a lot of options for tea and coffee K-cups!
Seriously though, ingle-cup brewing systems are great:-)

We drink a crap ton of coffee. I bought H a coffee pot for his office a few years ago. He says it was the best gift ever. He'll drink an entire pot through out the day. Through their building, he and the retention guy are the only people with coffee pots. Because Brass is always in his office getting a refill or 6, they started supplying him with coffee and filters. I usually drink 1-3 cups a day.
Neither H nor I drink coffee, but we ended up with three coffee makers as wedding presents. Two are still in the boxes. The third we use when we have guests. Shame I left TX before you arrived. I would have given you one!
My DH definitely drinks way more coffee than I, and is also less discerning - he'll happily buy whatever happens to be on sale/cheapest and I get ticked off because to me that is a waste of money because I'll up my creamer quantity just to get it to a drinkable level. And, yes, I usually do the grocery shopping.
Deep breath in and out.
He and DD gave me Mr. Coffee's version of the Keurig for Christmas last year for my office and now I can drink whatever makes my heart (taste buds) happy. We're thinking of watching the Black Friday specials like hawks to invest in a real Keurig for the home as our Christmas gift this year. Fingers crossed!
Another vote for Keurig The k-cups can get expensive (and wasteful) but we have a reusable filter that we use fresh ground coffee with. I do like splurging on the cups though, Green Mountain Coffee has a Pumpkin Spice one that is delish!

I got the reusable filter - the off brand - and I constantly get grounds in my cup. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to pony up and buy the Keurig brand reusable? I am silly and get squicked out about grounds floating around in my coffee cup and heaven forbid they actually make it into my mouth.
We also have a Keurig and love it. We got it at my bridal shower and at the time it was perfect. I always drank about 2 cups a day, and H once in a great while would drink 1 cup. Since he loves the Keurig so much though, and after being deployed again, he started drinking at least 2 cups a day. It definitely made it much more expensive for us to go through k-cups. So definitely think about how many k-cups a day you would go through. Right now it's not too bad for us because I'm only drinking one cup a day while pregnant, and H will make one cup to take on his way to work, and drinks the rest of his coffee when he gets there.
Those of you with Keurigs, did you register them on their website? I never did until I had a problem with mine and needed a replacement. But when you register it you get a coupon code for Buy 2 boxes get 2 free on their website. Boxes have usually 24 k-cups, and it ends up being about $29 for 4 boxes delivered. Their website actually has pretty good prices, and awesome customer service.

I got a few grounds in my cup withe the reusable and I have the keurig brand one. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong as well?
I can not justify spending $150 on a coffee maker. Even with my employee discount, I just cant. They are cool, and convenient, but so overpriced.
I love my regular drip machine and I have a french press when I want the good stuff.
Believe me, the price tag definitely makes me cringe and has been the only thing keeping me back from taking the full plunge and why it'll only grace our kitchen if we can get a steal at BF or something similar.
I do love being able to fix more than just coffee with my Mr. Coffee though; apple cider in the cup now at the office and I've got a stash of tea, chai latte, and cappuccino to go along with the reusable filter and my bag of Starbucks grounds.
I don't know if any of you have memberships for Sams or Costco, but I know Keurigs there are usually around $139, and come with a ton of stuff in it that's usually extra. Like the my K-cup, water filters, k-cups, etc.
I've seen a lot of deals for them at BB&B with a 20% off coupon, the NEX on BF and after Christmas, QVC, etc.
We have a keurig and a regular drip coffee makers. I've been drinking coffee since college, but H just recently started getting into it. If I make my own at home, I typically add some hazelnut creamer to it. When buying, I always get a mocha!

Real coffee people would not do a keurig. It's only 1 cup at a time (who would do that?!), plus, it's kinda weak. And expensive.
Sadly, my days of coffee drinking are behind me. While I've always gotten skipped beats (PVCs, palpitations, whatever you want to call them) with caffeine, what was once a rare thing only during heavy consumption during finals, recently it's been far more common with only a cup. So, I gave up my precious coffee a couple years ago. I still have a cup on the weekend every now and again out of hope or nostalgia or something, but I almost always regret it.
So, get a real coffee maker, and have a whole pot of coffee on a lazy Saturday morning on my behalf. I have a programmable 12C pot, with insulated thermos (so I can sip all morning), and a burr grinder, and it's now idle

I guess I'm not a real coffee drinker. . . I <3 my Keurig! I prefer (lightly) flavored coffee. My DH prefers bold coffee. When my folks visit (as they are for three months), my mom drinks decaf. I only drink one or two cups a day and its always hot and fresh. K-cups are expensive, but I drink the coffee I want--not a compromise with DH, with neither of us really being happy with it.

Nomadic, I think it makes perfect sense in your situation.
I cannot imagine reusing a k-cup. Nasty. I'll admit to a second pull on a nespresso pod, but that's only to add to my latte to make it more like 1.5 shots.

Have you seen the people who reuse spent K-cups?
I can get locally roasted beans for a cheaper, better tasting cup of coffee than a Kuerig and it comes with the benefit of supporting a local business.
My MIL does this... *Barf*
And YES to the local coffee roasters. There is a company in Colorado I would die without. My dad, bless his soul, sends it to me now and then.

Phew, at my mom's house happily getting my internet and power fix!
I had to give my opinion on coffee of course. Mostly, I agree with Sibil. When you need coffee, you need a pot! I love refreshing my coffee mug when it starts to get cold! However, H and I were given a Keurig as an engagement gift. And there is a use for that as well.
Mostly I drink coffee with half and half, no sweetener. I don't like flavored creamers because they are too sweet, but I do like flavored coffees and Keurig is a good way to try a lot of different flavors.
I love pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks! That is usually the only specialty coffee I treat myself to.
Oh, and I'm obsessed with Wawa and coffee from there.

Not a coffee drinker at all. I do own a drip coffee pot and according to my mom and MIL its an expensive one. I have no idea though, all I know is that my mother insisted that we register/ and or purchase one when we got married because she would not be able to come see me if we didn't have a coffee pot. It lives in the cabinet and comes out maybe 6 times a year.
I rarely drank coffee before having a baby. The second day we had him home, my husband ran to the bx and bought us a coffee maker. Babies are tiring. Now I have 2 cups almost every day.

We have a keruig and a regular drip pot that has a built in grinder. We love the keruig for daily use since we usually each just make one cup on our way out the door to work. We use the big pot and grinder on the weekends when we have time to laze around and have a full pot. Although now I need to invest in some decaf, I still have a few pounds of whole beans I got free while working at Starbucks.
