Mine was no big deal. I wouldn't call it fun, but it was not at all painful. Uncomfortable, but over quickly. ETA: Better than going to the dentist, IMO.
Ok, this is making me feel better--I've heard some horror stories that the bigger the boobs, the more it hurts, so...
LTP--no problems, but I'm 41 and have been putting it off. Had my annual this morning, and they wouldn't let me leave without getting the boobsquish scheduled, lol.
I've had two, and I thought they were no big deal. They are awkward, but I wouldn't even call them uncomfortable. Yes, they squish your boobs flatter than you ever thought possible, but I didn't think it was even uncomfortable - more just kind of like "Huh, look at that!" Maybe I had really good techs? I'm a solid C, but sometimes I wear a D if that helps you on my boob size.
Definitely not painful. If it's painful, they are doing it wrong.
I need to get my first and I'm terrified. In the aftermath of my pregnancies, the girls are extremely sensitive, to the point that I don't like it when H touches them. At the risk of TMI here, let's just say this is quite the change from my PC (pre-children) era.
The script for my mammogram has been sitting on my desk for ages. The doctor prescribed it early for me so I just keep telling myself that I don't actually need one yet.
Awkward but not too painful. The one side hurt more than the other but for me that's normal since I have Hoss & little Joe. My tech was awesome & made me feel comfortable. The awkwardness comes from flopping it down on there & getting your "side" boob in there too. I thought it was just some fat but nope, they want to see that too. Who knew?!?
I was anxious because I am an A cup, but there was no pain. None. I didn't find it all that awkward, either, other than how much I was sweating from nerves. I had an awesome technician, though. She explained everything, was very efficient, and even showed me the images. It took about 5 minutes.

IIOY, I'm like you. I've had three and they were not painful. Uncomfortable, yes, but really NBD.
I had a follow up u/s, and that was faaaaar worse. Not painful but very uncomfortable. Like I wanted to jump out of my own skin uncomfortable.
I've had a few now (and I'm only in my early 30s) as well as follow up ultrasound and core needle biopsys and while uncomfortable no big issue. I am a D cup and thinking this is why it was easier for me than my A cup mother.
