I'll be in the heights area, we think. Or at least in the loop. I'm interested in anything y'all suggest! Are midwives becoming more popular there do you find? This is my first pregnancy and I am clueless! I will be moving back around 8-10 weeks, in time for my first real appt.
To be fair, even with high-risk cases removed, the c/s stats for Women's sucks ass. They are the largest and most popular maternity hospital in the city though.
After my first (at Women's of course), I switched to Dr Hector del Castillo. He delivers at Memorial Hermann in the med center. I had a vbac with him 3 years ago, and hopefully will have another here in the next 2 weeks.
While I love my doctor, there's the brand new maternity ward at Texas Children's Hospital which I've heard great things about. It's supposed to be very baby focused, water birth is an option, etc. So an OB that delivers there would be very tempting to me.

Little moxie was telling me about the women's pavilion at the Texas Children's Hospital and it sounds very appealing to me. Thanks so much for the info, I'll be looking into several different options.
