ANOTHER ergo post!
I think our babies are about the same age...
Since DS outgrew the infant insert (and it got hot outside!), I've been using the moby. BUT - I read somewhere to take the little pillow out of the infant insert and still use that in the ergo for him to sit on. It worked like a charm! He's the perfect height to see out now and I've been using it more again. Just thought I'd mention it.
I found your post, hehe! I saw in A&S's ergo thread that you made a post for me, and I couldn't find it.
Thanks for the tip! How big is your DS that he outgrew the insert? Can he hold his head up? The instructions say to use it until 4-5 months. DS is only 3 months old, but he's a hefty 15 pounds. He seems okay with his legs splayed out in the insert, I don't tuck them in froggy style or anything. He can't sit up by himself at all though, and he can only hold his head up for a few minutes. Do you think I need to wait until he can hold his head up before ditching the fabric part of the insert? I'm visualizing his little head bobbling around without the edges of the insert to hold it. He's the 97th percentile for head size, heh. He gets that from his daddy.

oh yeah. Maybe wait a little longer til he can hold his head better. You could always try it and see how he does and if he's too wobbly, wait two weeks and try it again.
I'm sure he could still fit in the insert if we tried, but it's too hot! Not sure mine's weight but I'm guessing ~17#? And he is good at holding his head up and sitting in the bumbo, so that probably does make a difference w/o insert.
