I like the idea, in theory. But I just feel like applying what is, essentially, contact paper, to your countertops or appliances is kind of icky. I'm hard on my countertop and that would be scratched and ugly in no time, not to mention unsanitary. Also, did they address the stickum so it's not attractive to roaches like contact paper is? That would be a big concern to me.

Roaches like contact paper? Well, I'm traumatized now.
Oh my. "You'll never be able to tell it's not granite." Yeah... sure.
Well I am sure you can tell but how much different can it be to use the Rust-o-Leum kit? and less work
TOTALLY different from the rustoleum kit! Glossy contact paper < a thick adhesive paint + solid vinyl chips + silicon epoxy protective coating! Sticky paper doesn't even come close to the same durability and overall functionality of the rustoleum system!

Yep. From NY Magazine: "And don’t line cabinets with contact paper: Roaches will eat the glue and use the area between the paper and the shelf to breed."

That and the fact that the paper only comes in rolls of 3' x 30" so your going to have seams EVERYWHERE, my peninsula area is huge I would have seams going both directions if I did this.

This. Wrapping it around the corners and undersides would be REALLY hard. Plus, it's a sticker. It can't function as a real counter surface. It won't resist heat or liquids or stains or knives....
