Kinda like a sloppy joe, but better. They don't have tomato sauce in the meat. They usually are cooked with onion, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, spicy brown mustard, ground black pepper and maybe a little garlic or other seasoning. Top with mustard and pickles.

maybe the name is the reason it's only known really here in Iowa. People make big batches of it and put it on low in crock pots for potlucks or graduations. Bob dogs are the best use of the meat, who doesn't love meat on meat? The weiners they use are awesome too, not that crappy, spongey ones most fast food places use.

So random that I knew that cuz when I first read this thread I thought I'd never heard of loose meat, then it was like, BAM, memories of Roseanne. Loved that show!
