PP is right, as long as you comply with the rules of your destination (and possibly any layover countries on the way), you should be ok. I'd probably print out the consular page as back-up.
My only thought is - are there any connections in other countries?
Several years ago, I was traveling with my grandmother. Our final destination was Bali, but we stopped over in Singapore. She was not permitted to board the flight to Bali because her passport expired in less than whatever Singapore's requirement was at the time (I believe 6 months, and hers expired in 4 months or something like that). We missed our flight and she had to go to the US embassy to get a new passport, and we flew out the next day instead.
we took a transatlantic crossing last year and they wouldn't let DS2 use his passport that expired literally 5 mos and 28 days after we left. There were no stops between the US and England
Pardon my ignorance but is there a reason for this rule? I mean, as long as you are returning to your country of origin before your passport expired I don't understand the reasoning about 6 months.
And the UK doesn't have the expiration rules. If you are worried just get a new passport. My son's expires in April and we are going to Spain and the UK in March and we are just getting him a new one (both the US and UK) before then.
