Which is your go-to method?

I usually just cut/chop with a knife--it's easier and faster...

I've seen my sil tear the romaine/ lettuce up with her hands and it looks great...

I tear. As I'm pulling the leaves off the head of lettuce, I stack them up and tear a few at a time, which probably defeats the whole point of tearing it, but oh well.

I chop kale, chard, collards, etc.

For Caesar Salad, cutting is the usual method. For a salad of mixed greens I tear.

If I'm really lazy, I accept however it is in the bag.

I always chop. You're supposed to tear? I never knew that. I only tear if I'm making myself a salad and don't feel like dirtying extra dishes.

I always use knife...but my SIL made feel all self conscious when I told her that I always use a knife to chop lettuce or romaine.....she made it seem like I was the weird one! LOL
