Oh my gosh, I'm so, so sorry you and your family have to go through with this. If he wasn't charged with anything, can he even be held responsible? I hope any decent judge would look at the evidence and throw out their case. Hang in there!

It was rule suicide by car. So my Dad was never charged. Its just because they want money I guess. Thanks for the support ladies. I'm just so over having to relive it for everything they are making us do. I just want to put it in the past and move on.
I am so so sorry, A. I hope that you get a good judge. How is it possible for the family to sue you if your Dad was found to be not at fault? What a crappy situation, sending you thoughts and prayers.

Honestly, I wouldn't have allowed my insurance company to make an offer to them in the first place. I really think a trail is the best thing in cases like this. She was completely at fault and your family should not be held responsible in any way for her suicide. Suicide is what it sounds like it was. Her family were probably enablers. They are also probably money grubbers. Keep fighting it and make sure your dad has an excellent attorney. My friend actually had something similar happen to her. A drunk man stumbled into the street in front of her. It was late at night and he was wearing a black shirt and dark jeans. She didn't see him until the very last second. He lived but sued her. When her attorney counter sued him, he dropped his suit.

Yes you can whine! Dear heavens, what an awful experience and now, continuing aftermath. That your father, and your family has had to endure because of this woman's selfish act is terrible. And to go after your father now for money? Ummm, that says a lot to me about their character. Money grubbing is right. What about a countersuit for the suffering and trauma of being made a weapon. I hope that the final result is no money for them and that they have to pay for all court costs and attorney fees.
