I posted this on MM, but I think you missed it.

Let's dish about Secrets Maroma. How was your trip?

My H and I thought the service was excellent and beach/pool areas were really nice. The room was just okay and the food was worse than expected. I got sick the last day.

We loved that there was a photographer on-site so we were able to get some pictures of the two of us on the beach.

Thanks for the review! I think we are going to go here in May. I loved Excellence Playa Mujeres but the beach is not that great so I think we will like Secrets even better.
How long was the ride form the airport?

The ride from the airport was 30-40 minutes. The beach at Secrets Maroma is the BEST! My H loved it. There are so many loungers and palapas. Some days, there was some seaweed but they cleaned it up really well the next day. The kayaks and hobie cats are included and we really enjoyed our time on those.

Entertainment team is super fun also! They got some good looking guys..lol

We were the only Asian (Chinese) couple there! Super easy to spot us.....lol

Chiming in: did you just go Penny? We had a swimout when we were there in October (2010) and loved it. I think we were in building 25 but the water was fine and it was essentially like we had a private pool to ourselves every afternoon.

It's funny how people can go to a confined resort like SMB and still have different experiences. We only ate at World Cafe for breakfast and thought it was good; my friend who went said that was their fav dinner spot and we never tried it for dinner

We went Oct. 23-27 and were in building 24 (2423 specifically)..no lie! I think I saw you penny! #notastalker

cheapcaribbean.com had the best price by far for us. We got ROH (run of the house) because most of the rooms are the same-they just give you a random room when you check in. Preferred Club or ocean front was not worth it for us and we didn't spend much time in the room during the day anyways.
