Hi Folks, I am new here. I mostly post on the local NY and NJ boards, but we are about to start construction for our new house, so I'm sure I'll have a bunch of questions along the way.
Here is my first question- We are trying to decide if we should get a jacuzzi tub. If you have one, do you use it? Is it a pain to clean?
They are the same price. I wish we could get the second option with jets, but that is too expensive. We could also get the first one without jets and get a $500 credit.

Personally, I'm not a fan of jetted tubs. They aren't soothing to me at all, and the build up of scum and mildew in the jets isn't something I want to have to regularly deal with. If it were me I'd go with your second option - both because I like the rectangular style and also because it doesn't have jets.

I much prefer the look/ shape of the second tub, the big oval is meh.
I have a jetted tub and I LOVE how it feels, however I absolutely do.not.ever suggest getting a jetted tub unless you have a *separate* shower! Our tub and shower are not separate and the jets get so horribly gross soooo quickly thanks to getting water in them twice a day. Gross gross gross, I haven't used the jets in about 3 years because I just don't think I'm getting it clean enough!

Thanks so much, folks!
It will be separate, but I am still worried about cleaning the jets. I have had a jetted tub in a shower as well and cleaning was a PITA. I am assuming it will be easier with a separate shower, but I'm not sure. Ugh.
I prefer without jets as well. I'm not a huge fan of how they feel, but it's the ick factor that keeps me from using them. All you have to do is run them with a tub of bleach water, but that doesn't make me feel super secure.
