I've recently become intrigued by Scentsy. At first I thought "I don't need candles because I never use them". Well I do use a plug-in from Glade. I always forget to replace it and it's annoying that it only lasts a month. I've heard Scentsy lasts awhile but I'm not sure how long they last. I've also heard that they smell nothing like the names so you have to actually smell them to decide. I'm unsure if I'm motivated enough to seek out someone in the area to smell everything. This may become a thought that I never carry out but I figured I'd ask your opinion.

Sookie sells it! I have 6 wall plugs I think I might only have 5 I can't remember at the moment. I love them! I also have one of the regular table top plug in warmers. Every sent I have purchased I have LOVED. And honestly I haven't smelt any of them prior to purchase. Their descriptions on the website are helpful in describing the scent. Sookie will totally send you a sample though if you want to smell something!
Let me page her on FB and when she has a chance I'm sure she will pop over and tell you all about it!
I lied. I use a Febreeze plug-in (shows how much I replace the scents). I use a dual-scent that switches between Morning Walk and Cleansing Rain. I've also used Lavender and Sweat Pea scents in other brands.
Is it actually possible to be sent samples? Like scratch-and-sniff?

She will mail you a piece of the wax. I got some yesterday of the May scent of the month. It melted a little on the way here but I can still get a sense of the scent and I can pop it in one of my warmers and see if I like the way it smells when it melts.
Thanks A! Like she said, I do sell it and I'm happy to mail out samples. I actually just made a crud-ton of different scents I had laying around and am finishing up a few more tomorrow. Scentsy is something you'll still have to change out, but I keep my warmers on 24/7 and only change my wax out once a week because it'll last a while. Sometimes I can leave it longer, but I like to switch scents up anyhow.
Each bar lasts about 60-80 hours per Scentsy, but again, I've found they last MUCH longer than that. There are some scents that aren't as strong and don't last as long, but a majority that I use will. I'd disagree with the scents not smelling like what they sound like though. Of course sometimes that's the case, but there are ones that you read and they smell exactly like what I'd "pictured". I do recommend smelling some that you're interested in though before jumping straight in.
What kinds of scents do you like? If you walked into a store and grabbed a candle right now, what would you go to? If you want me to send you some of the samples I have on hand, PM me. That goes for any of you.
I'm cheap and just get the knock-off at Wal-Mart. Sorry Sookie!
I think the Scentsy brand wax lasts longer and like that the warmers don't get as hot, but I also don't fault you for taking a slightly less expensive route.
I work at Yankee Candle but am curious about Scentsy too. Black Raspberry Vanilla and Perfectly Pomegranate sound appealing.
I know I have PP samples, but I'll have to look through and see if I have anymore BRV left. PP is such a great summer scent! If you want to try them, PM me your address and I'll send them out.

I was a yankee candle addict and got so sick of spending the money, that I invested in Scentsy! I LOVE it so much more now. People always ask me what smells so good when they come over. I can leave it on 24/7 and not worry about burning the house down. It's easy to change your scents out. If DD plays with it, it won't burn her!!! If she eats it ( heaven forbid) It's non toxic. I think scentsy is totes the way to go. Much cuter, too!! I love the layers for laundry, and wish I had ordered more at once!!

Sent! Let me know if you are interested in any Yankee Candle tarts
I'm on some random seller's website and it looks like its $5 for 1 one bar, $14 for 3, and $25 for 6. Would that mean it would be roughly $14/month given that you could make 3 bars last a month?

Like 6 bucks for one "case" which has 8 squares in each one. If you bundle up, you can get like 2 premium warmers, and 6 scentsy bars for 80 bucks or something like that. I would spend 50 bucks on yankee candles and be out of them in 2 weeks for how much I burned them.

I agree with this too. I bought some scents at Hobby Lobby and they didn't last as long and are harder to clean out of the dish. The Scentsy wax seems softer and more pliable.

My bars last far longer than a month. For the bars, there are 8 squares in each. For my plug ins, I only use half a square. You can leave it on for an hour and the wax will let off scent for hours after you turn it off. I use half a square per plug in once a week or longer. I use one square in my large warmer. They last far longer than the ones at Walmart. My mom decided to put the Walmart brand wax in her Scentsy warmer for a bit. She found she was using almost 3x the wax that month and the scent wasn't as strong as the Scentsy wax. When DH is deployed, he always asks for air freshener. I always send him the Scentsy room sprays. He loves them. I have turned so many of my friends on to Scentsy. I love that it won't burn my kids or animals if they knock it over. I've also accidentally left one on all day when I was gone. It doesn't get any hotter than a night light. There's no open flame. You don't have to worry about burning your house down.

I don't get the draw and I actually just sold my two plug ins and 6 barely used bars yard sale style. They were gobbled up quickly b/c that stuff goes like hot cakes around here.
I never turned it on and it drove.me.nuts to have to unplug it every time (daily) I needed to use the outlet. I couldn't put it in a low outlet b/c of C and the dog so I didn't have many outlet options.
I also don't think the large warmers are very attractive and I didn't want the cord hanging around for C to tug on. Granted, I never burn regular candles or buy Glade/Febreeze plug ins either...scent is just not my thing I guess.
Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, don't take it personally.

Goodness gracious no! A single bar lasts me over a month. I think it was TX who explained it down a bit. A bar has 8 uses (assuming you use 1 cube per time). I use 1 cube over a week (again, depending on the scent) which means $5 for 8 weeks on average for me. Now, I'm ADD with my scents and have been known to switch out 3 times a week, but instead of throwing away the old scent that's still good, you can pour it back into the same clamshell and reuse it later.

I had a HORRIBLE experience with a consultant and it ended up taking me 2 months to get the things my H ordered for me.. BUT after some help and a little work I got everything he ordered and two extra scent bars and they express mailed it to my house. I LOVE it. I've never been a candle kinda gal or anything but I think I might turn into some kind of crazy addict lol. I really like that you can warm the wax and pour it back into the container so it lasts longer than I would have expected. The scents are AMAZING. My favorite so far is Luna I'm pretty sure I could just order that forever and be happy lol. I like that they are fragrant but not overpowering. I defiantly recommend buying from someone with a good reputation or someone you know personally though. Anyway, I think it's worth it lol
