So my mother just called me, telling me a letter from a hospital arrived for me at her address. I haven't lived there for 13 years. It's the hospital my fertility specialist is at. First appointment is next Friday.
Apparently as a kid I'd been at that hospital once, and they still had that address on file. Stupid nurse didn't adjust my address when I made my appointment, even though I gave her my current info.
We're not telling anyone about TTC, and most definitely won't be telling people about seeing a fertility specialist and even more than that I will definitely never ever in a million years want to tell my mother.
So now I'll have to go by her house to pick up the letter, hope she or my brother hasn't "accidentally" opened it, which I guess she hasn't because she said it was a closed envelope, and then I have to come up with a lie about what I'm going to the hospital for. She knows that's not one of my 2 regular hospitals, so I'll have to come up with something new that bothers me, but not something dangerous or something I could have follow-ups on.
Needless to say I yelled at the nurse about my privacy, but that doesn't really solve this situation.
Holy HIPPAA violation Batman!!! I mean, I know NL doesn't have HIPPAA per se, but still....you can't be sending sensitive medical info to the wrong address!!!!!!
If your mom asks, maybe just tell her that you were trying to gather information from your old medical record a out immunizations or other childhood medical history (old X-rays from a broken arms as a child maybe?) to complete your current medical record? And this is just their response to your inquiry???
Ooooohhhh, Villain, you're brilliant. I know I was there because of my knee back then. I can tell her my knee has been bothering me a little again and I want to hear if it's just the crappy weather or that something has changed.
Then 2 weeks later when she asks again I can say, oh, it was nothing, probably the weather. Stinkin cold!
GAHHH I hate stupid people. Perfect time for this quote: “Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown, ignorance can be educated, and drunkenness sobered, but stupid lasts forever.” ― Aristophanes
I agree with villan's cover, or the life insurance idea. Done. But holy hell I'd have flipped out at a mistake like that!
I'd be willing to bet my left pinky that Aristophanes did not say "stupid lasts forever," LOL. Funny line, though.
I got the full quote off a website, but I heard it first in that movie with Kevin Kline as a teacher at an all-boys school, and I googled it cuz I liked it but couldn't remember the movie! They credited Aristophanes...I was gonna credit Kevin Kline lol
