I am looking for a sideboard for my dining room on CL, someone is listing their RH palladian set "make an offer" I have already emailed asking if they'll break up the set as I just want the sideboard, I'm waiting to hear back. If they will what do you think a reasonable offer on this would be? "like new" according to the listing
Do you know how much it retailed for? A quick google search comes up with $3200 plus tax. I usually expect to pay about 50% of retail on Craigslist so $1600 would be a pretty good deal for "like new" condition. Although with "make an offer" situations I would probably start out even lower, maybe as low as $900. Do they indicate that they have to sell it or do you think they are just testing the waters? I have found that the market for expensive things on Craigslist isn't very good (at least in my area) so you may be able to get a really good deal.
That price was according to a random for sale by owner posting and it's what the seller claims the original price was. Considering typical RH prices, it could be possible. I really hate "make me an offer" postings!
Thanks! I'm still waiting to hear back so it's probably a no go anyway but I've been trying to figure out what I wanted and was clueless so at least now I have an idea
