I know I still have 7 months to work out the details but I need help coming up with a theme for Amelia's first birthday party. And every single party after that. Her birthday is December 27 so it's always going to be tough, people will be traveling, busy, exhausted. I want to make sure she has an awesome birthday party and it doesn't get melted in with Christmas every year. I just saw on Pinterest giving a gift every hour starting in the hour she was born on her day, which I like. And I will probably do a Birthday in July party for her for just family every year so she will get presents spread out and not just all at Christmas. But I'm really at a loss for a special unique theme. I keep picturing Candy Land (my baby shower), North Pole and other wintertime themes, but that doesn't set her day apart enough.
Beach. I mean, c'mon we live in FL. That's all I got right now.
I will think of more soon. We are having an ice cream social for the first birthday here, but then again the girls were born in June, so I don't have that extra issue with birthdates.

We just did a monkey theme. I didn't go over the top with things like decorations, etc this year because we had a limited budget and I wanted it to be more focused on who was here than the things she really wouldn't remember. So we had like 40 people but didn't go all out in other areas. As she gets older ill probably do more for birthdays. Giving a gift an hour is a cute idea!

Themes? eh... I'm not really into matchy, matchy themes. And I got nothing. That's why I was thinking a boy would be easier, "go play on the jungle gym" and call it a party. LOL
Yeah I hope to do stuff like ice skating, roller skating, bounce house stuff as she gets older. But she won't remember this one. #1 is for the adults and her baby album. I want it to look good. Trust me I'm not much of a kitchy decorating themy type, you saw my wedding, but I really want something to make her day stand apart from Christmas, even though I'm afraid it's going to be inevitable, so i feel like i need to give it a little extra for her. My poor monkey. I loved being born in the summer because we had a fun party in my backyard with all my friends, but wished my birthday was during school so I could have a special day there. Mia doesn't get either. She's probably going to have her birthday overlooked a lot like everyone else I know who is within a couple days of the big one.
One word: Pinterest! lol I keep seeing so many cute ideas that I wish I had thought of before Aiden was big enough to pick his own birthday theme! lol What about a candyland theme? I have seen some seriously cute candy party ideas!
It probably sounds silly but my baby shower was candy land and it's already in her baby book. I don't want the same again. Omg, I'm starting to sound like a girl:). I'll go search Pinterest now but it's less fun on my phone.
I don't even search for party stuff, I just see a lot while browsing the popular pins. lol But I bet you can come up with some neat ideas! I love pinterest lol But i agree, I hate searching on pinterest with my phone. The pins get all smushed together
I just pinned little snack cups for a pool party filled with blue m&m's with a Swedish fish "swimming" in the middle which is super cute, but I think too summery for late December. But then I started thinking of a summer beach party theme and maybe that would be fun to set get day apart. In the snowy north it would be a lot cuter though. Here is isn't unreasonable to pool it up year round.
Ooh yes! I like the caterpillar too! And I also really like the cake that looks like a hat with a rabbit popping out! A magic party could be fun! Bug maybe I'll just end up with pink pink pink and do cupcakes and stuff, at least it's a break from red and green! I love the balloon wreath on there, I might start trying to make that this week! (it takes me awhile to get anything done now:)
I like the balloon wreath too! You are getting me in the mood to plan Aiden's birthday! lol Too bad he already told me he doesn't want any more birthdays and he wont show up to his birthday parties bc he "truly does not want to be an adult." Gotta love kids! lol

My brother's birthday was right around Christmas too, whereas mine was at the beginning of the summer, so I always got the pool parties and his got lost in the shuffle of the holidays. To make up for it , my mom threw him "un-birthday" parties in June to make up for it.

Yes exactly! I don't want to be gift grabby with her friends, but her family will get her gifts all year anyway, so I'm thinking we will (when she gets older) do a half year birthday party for her in the summer for her family, just to get everybody over since they live in Orlando and all over and we don't all get together except for at Thanksgiving/Christmas. She will be the hostess and pick out the theme and get to dress up and we will make a big deal out of it for her.

We are doing a crab shack theme... Lots of the girls on my month board are doing Very Hungry Caterpillar (which I think is super cute.) What about a Teddy bear party?
