Does anyone here have a Delta Touch2O faucet? Although I'm leaning towards Fox's recommendations of Grohe and Hansgrohe, I would like to learn more about DT2O. The reviews I read online are mostly good, but the bag reviews are very negative.
So no one's responding? LOL. OK I will. The Touch2O technology is cool but you either have to keep your faucet on all the time (ie. the handle up/on) and then touch it on or off. Or you have to turn it on via handle and then use the touch function and then turn the handle off again. The later is recommended. So you would only really use the touch function when you are say cooking a big dinner and repeatedly needing water and then not in a short amount of time. Also you can't adjust the temperature without using the handle so if you need hot water to boil pasta and then cold water to fill a glass you'll need to adjust the handle anyway.
Like I've said before the % of plastic parts will be much higher with the Delta faucet than the higher quality faucets we were talking about. I wish you lived nearby and we could buy a Delta faucet and put it next to the Grohe faucets going in my bathroom. The quality just doesn't compare (if that is not a big concern for you then NBD). With the pricey touch feature I'm sure the Delta faucet will be around the same general price as a Grohe or Hansgrohe faucet.
I'll have a chance to compare if I can ever make it to the showroom I want to visit that has both Hangrohe and Delta on the floor. The Touch2O is advertised as extremely convenient, but the way you've presented it definitely puts a twist on things. I knew you had to physically turn the faucet on for the feature to work, but I didn't know that the preference was to leave it off and turn it on when you need it (making the touch part kind of pointless).
Yes I've read a number of reviews on various blogs about these touch2o faucets and some of the more common complaints are the batteries needing to be replaced often, the faucet turning it self on and off randomly (this is part of the reason you have to turn it off...imagine if you left the house and it turned it self on all day!), it being easy to accidentally turn on and off by brushing against it (not much that can be done about that), and the high cost for a Delta grade faucet. Here:
I have one! It's a kitchen one (not sure if you were going for a kitchen or bath one - not sure if I would like a bath one). We installed it in fall 2010, and haven't needed to replace the batteries yet. I really like it, but it does take some time getting used to. Sometimes DH gets frustrated with it, but he doesn't use it as much as I do. Like fox said the handle does need to be 'on' for the touch to work. I'll leave it on is when I'm working in the kitchen or doing dishes where I'm constantly turning it on and off - which makes it really easy. There's a little light at the bottom that tells you when the batteries are running (they can still be running if the faucet is 'off'), so I always make sure the light is off when I'm finished.
I've also gotten so used to it, that when I do dishes at my moms house I find myself tapping the faucet to turn off, ha.
Also, regarding turning on by itself - mine has an auto shut off time. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I remember running water for quite a while and without doing anything it shut off. It's only done that once, so it's not like it'll happen often. But it's nice to know the safety feature does work.
I should note that I know someone who works for delta, that was able to get us an awesome price. So I'm not sure what it would've cost regularly, and what that would compare to in other brands. Delta has switched to a lot of plastic parts, and DH's company (plumbing) used to only sell Delta, since that switch they stopped selling Delta.
That was kinda long and probably confusing. But, I do love my touch faucet.

Well that's good to know that this is a new feature! The water saving energy efficient side of me still doesn't like that it may randomly turn on by itself but at least it will turn it's self back off.

Yeah I've never had is turn on by itself - at least while I've been home! DH was worried about 'what if a fly lands on it' but that's definately not enough to trigger it.
We didn't go with Delta, but we just put in the Hansgrohe Allegro E in our kitchen and LOVE it...I definitely recommend checking out Grohe and Hansgrohe

I think I just saw this at Costco for 250$. Does that sound about right? Even though we haven't found a house to buy yet, I assume once we do I will want a new kitchen faucet, so I was thinking about buying it while I could get it for cheaper at Costco. It had a lifetime warranty.

Yes! It is that one From what I could tell, it was a great deal...I'm loving it so so so much (when we purchased the house it had a Moen), so I definitely recommend getting it if it's at the Costco near you
