Two weeks! My lawyer has already sent the paperwork to the court- it will be filed on the 21st.
I moved all of my stuff out of the house this weekend. Background- a few weeks ago, I stopped by the house and there were multiple, large holes in the walls. One in the office and one in the basement. Also in the basement wall were about 20 bullet holes. Some of the casings were still in the wall, some were laying on the floor. From a 45 caliber handgun. I have no idea if xh has a gun- he didn't while we were together.
At that point, I decided I no longer felt comfortable leaving my furniture and belongings in the house. I don't know who's going in there, or what's going on, but obviously, xh is out of control. I thought about going in immediately, but I wouldn't have felt comfortable without a police officer with me. And xh had pot laying out all over the house. And with his recent DUI conviction, it probably would have sent him to jail. I know some of you will disagree, but I didn't feel right about that, so I decided to wait until he went to Florida.
He left for Florida late Saturday. I went into the house while he was at work Saturday morning. He had taken all of the sports memoribilia out of the basement- several thousand dollars worth. So, he must have suspected I'd be in there. When I went there Sunday morning, after he had left, he had moved his two cars to the bottom of the driveway to block me from getting in. We were able to move the one car that I had a key to, but the other car was still blocking half of the driveway.
I had movers scheduled for Monday. When I got there Monday morning, someone had moved the car still in the driveway so that it was sideways, again, completely blocking the driveway. I went to the Sheriff's office, there was nothing they could do. I went to his parents, and they didn't have a key. I ended up calling a tow truck and it was towed to the end of the road.
Ugh. But the good news is, everything is out. Although he can still damage the house, at least my things are safe. I took more than I had planned, because he fucking pissed me off, but I still think I was pretty fair. I just can't wait for this to be over.
I'm hoping that a judge would agree that he should be responsible for the damage to the house. I'm not sure what will happen with the house. I'd like to sell it, but only if he agrees to move out while it's on the market, and I have a feeling he won't agree to that.
So glad you only have a few weeks left. WTF is wrong with him? Bullet holes? I would have taken everything of value. I am glad you documented the damages.
You're amazing Bernadine. FUCKING AMAZING. I am in complete awe of you for real. The fact that he put you through all of this and you still had the heart to protect him from further legal issues shows your incredible character.

What a complete and total asshole. You have handled this situation with so much poise, grace, and patience. I am so glad it is almost over and you are moving forward with your life.
You are a better woman than I because I think I totally would have brought an officer in with me. I really hope he is held responsible for the damage he has caused. He is unhinged.
