It depends, this is totally a personal question. For me, it would be way too far. But I have a friend who lives in Leominster who commutes into Cambridge every day. I would hate that, be he doesn't mind it. He comes in very early and leaves early to avoid too much traffic.

If you could get a adjusted schedule, it wouldn't be so bad. I don't know that I'd want to do that every day during rush hour, unless it was a really great job that paid well and had a lot of growth opportunities. And there was the potential to move closer at some point. FWIW, I had a long commute for a few years (Springfield to Hartford) during rush hour, and it was really exhausting. And expensive. (And that was when gas was cheap, heh.)

Thanks for your thoughts. I grew up in an area where almost everyone commuted so the distance doesn't really phase me. More just thinking of the traffic/rush hour aspect. Probably getting way ahead of myself though, I've only just applied. An adjusted schedule or a sometimes work at home situation would be awesome.
