Hi there! I don't normally post here and actually had to create an account just for this post, but here goes.....
During the hurricane (I'm in SW PA) a little kitty showed up on my back porch. I hate cats, but couldn't stand leaving this kitten out in the cold, wind and rain/snow. And now I have a kitten in my bathroom and I need to find a home for her.
I have two dogs of my own and they've barely eaten since we've taken in little Sandy (yeah, I'm really original). It's a very stressful situation for my boys, Sandy, and my husband--who is very allergic to this kitten.
I have had fliers up at my local grocery store and at three local vet offices, and no one has claimed her. I'm willing to transport if anyone here would like to adopt her or knows someone who would like a kitten. I've taken her to the vet already; she is 6 months old or less and has a clean bill of health and full vaccinations.
I plan by the end of the week to contact several local no-kill shelters to see if they would either have room for her or could put up a courtesy post of some sort so the word gets out that she needs a forever home.
Thank you in advance for listening to my ramble and if anyone has any other advice or avenues I could investigate to find her a home, I would greatly appreciate it.
She is beautiful! If you could mail her to KY I would take her! But it sounds like you are using all your avenues. If you designate a cat room and keep her put up 24/7 it might help the dogs understand the house is still "theirs." We put our fosters Ina giant dog crate and let the dogs sniff the crate after exercise (so they are calmer) but no interaction. They decide its boring pretty quickly. Hope you find a home soon and I think it's awesome you took her in!
Also just read your h is allergic. A designated cat room with closed door And the cat in a crate will help a little. But a rarely used room, not a communal bathroom. I used cardboard box lids for disposable litter boxes.
And please make sure the new owner agrees to get her spayed when she is at least 4 months!

Thanks for the responses! The bathroom is our only option as we have a small house: kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, H's office. before we got a clean bill of health from the vet, she was in the basement, but its really damp and cold a not much better than outside.
And the dogs don't care that she doesn't have free reign of the house. My pug mix will sit at the bathroom door for hours and sniff and growl. Apparently they aren't "cat people" either.
If you are serious, you can pm me and I will drive to KY and you can have her. I know you ladies on the pets board are more than qualified. I put up on FB that I'd be willing to go as far as Chicago, Nashville, and Boston, if someone is willing to give her a loving home as an indoor kitty.
I have had her picture on FB since we got her hoping to have someone lined up to adopt in case nobody claimed her. But so far nothing has panned out.
Well if you don't find an indoor home for her let me know! I completely understand being picky about the home our fosters go to! Unfortunately, all of my cats are outdoor/barn cats (all spayed and well fed!) The barn is partially heated/AC and secure with lots of fun and safe hidey-holes, but it does boil down to an outdoor home since they can come and go. (mostly they sit on the shelves waiting to be fed!) We also occasionally are up in Ravenna, OH and will likely be there around/in between holidays, so that would cut about 6 hrs off your drive. Good luck and hope you find a great home for her either way! As another tip, if you are willing to travel pretty far, I'd contact shelters as far out as you can, usually they are more than happy to do courtesy posts through their shelter. Contact no-kills for if they have space, but contact all the shelters you can for courtesy posts. They can't put her down if you are fostering her, after all!
