I am so thankful for C! Last night I totally lost it as I was setting the table for dinner. I had only had 2 hours of sleep, the Kiddos were bickering and crying, I am was in a MOOD...I asked the Kiddos to "just stop" (in a not so nice voice) and C, justifiably, stepped in and called me on it...that pissed the hell out of me...and I almost slammed the plate on the table (thankfully I didn't) and just barked "I am going upstairs!"
I was watching MSNBC when C and the Kiddos came upstairs with a dinner plate for me and silverware. C wrapped the dinner plate so Peanut could carry it and wrapped the silverware so Little Man could carry them. Sappy me, just started crying and told C how much I love her...Then...the Kiddos proceeded to ask me for bites of my food and literally ate all my supper...it was AWESOME!
I'm thankful about our elections: local, state (marriage!), national. I'm thankful for my team of care providers (acupuncturist, massage, ND, MD, OBGYN), who have all been supportive of my PCP goals. I'm thankful for my wife who is so silly, and sweet, and grounded.
I am thankful for family that puts up with my motley crew. I am thankful the damage from the storm wasn't worse. I am thankful my daughters preschhol has power so she gets something normal back in her life. I am thankful someone retained a cool head in a court case for my friend today and things are safe for now.
I am thankful for the progress our country is making on gay rights/acceptance. I am thankful for IVF's existence. I am thankful I do not currently need FEMA assistance. I am thankful disaster relief does exist for those who do need it. I am thankful I earn a salary and did not lose income when the city shut down for a week. I am thankful my wife figured out how to mix all those damn little bottles of stims.
I am thankful to be a stay-at-home mom. It's the best job. Ever. I am thankful we decided not to sell our home. When we moved in, we said we would retire here. I am so, so thankful that plan is back in place I am thankful for my sweet, cranky, healthy baby boy. He's pure sunshine and bubbles. I am thankful my wife gets home at 3 everyday and cannot wait to grab said crank-pot while I work/clean/cook. It makes my heart sing to hear them laughing and playing.
I am thankful for an easy bedtime with the boys. I am thankful for my son's awesome giggle when tricked me into thinking he fell asleep in the car and allowed me to carry him up 2 flights of stairs and start undressing him before he started laughing. I am thankful for my son coming into tell me he needed "one more hug" and "I love you too much!" before bed. I am thankful that we have a busy weekend planned while L goes to write.
