liquid - when I bought our dryer I was told the sheets can leave a film on the sensors in the dryer - so if you use the auto-sense dry you could have issues.

There are dryers with auto sense dry? Does it work well? That's pretty sweet. My washer/dryer are ancient. They keep breaking and my H keeps fixing them. Sometimes I hate google:)

The one we bought when we moved into the house works pretty good. The only time I have issues is when I have a fitted sheet in there and a sock or shirt gets stuck in the elastic. In our old condo, we had a dryer that was was 10+ years old and we only used the dryer sheets - the sensor sucked on that one.
Honestly I never heard about the sheets causing issues with the sensors until I was researching to buy a new washer/dryer.
I use Bounce sheets, but I don't use any on Mia's clothes. I had no clue you could get free and clear sheets, woohoo! She has super sensitive skin. I also had no idea the sheets mess with the autosensor. That might be why I think mine is dumb. It will seriously only want to dry Mia's clothes for like 18 minutes when I put it on "delicate". So I just use the timed setting and put it on low. I love these boards!

I have Gain sheets, but 95% of the time, I forget to use them, so I suppose that's why I never have had issues with the auto sensor.
Stupid question, but does the liquid just go in the drawer (for a front loader) before you start the load along with the detergent? One day my MIL was running to BJs and instead of getting laundry detergent for me, she grabbed the liquid fabric softener. I've only ever used the sheets, so the giant bottle of it is just sitting there taking up space on the shelf, and it's pretty silly for me not to be using it.
I'm kind of curious about how to use liquid also. I've used sheets my whole life, never liquid, because I'm pretty sure with a top loader you just have to stand around and wait for that part of the cycle to come around to put it in? And if that is the case what part if the cycle? Rinse? I'm sure it says on the jug but I've just always thought the sheets are super easy. Today my clothes had a little static though even though I used my sheets. I wonder if its because we have low humidity today and I wonder if liquid works better.
I use liquid and sheets. I usually buy what ever brand is cheapest or I have a coupon for. I drop a Downey ball in with my clothes and it opens on it's own. Works great for me.

My front loader has a spot for it in the drawer and it's supposed to go in at the same time as the detergent. Someone accidentally bought me liquid at some point.
Also, I realized I might have sounded like a dingdong in my last post by not knowing fs sheets come in free & clear...to clarify I don't do the shopping, H does, and he just buys what I write down for that kind of stuff.

Thanks! Mine has a spot for it in the drawer too, but I apparently have not had the motivation to read the manual to figure out when it went it.
And I didn't think you sounded like a dingdong at all I would've just assumed you were distracted by the baby in your shopping cart, since that's usually my excuse.
