Hey! Was it you that posted way back forever ago about using some sort of webcam or something as a video baby monitor? Am I remembering that correctly or am I making that up?
If it was you, could you refresh my memory about what you bought and how you set it up? Now that we're moving, Ellie will be getting her own room (I'm already sad about that) and I'd like to have some sort of a monitor. Obviously we've survived so far without one because a 1-bedroom apt doesn't really need one, and I think even when she has her own room a regular old audio monitor will be fine, but just wanted to make sure I've checked into all options.
If it's not you, so that I have not paged you in vain, allow me to just tell you that I find your baby super adorable, even if she doesn't sleep.
I just wanted to chime in. This is what we have in the girls' room. I love it coz it has the ability to scan the room, and when we're not in the house and leave the girls' with a babysitter, we can watch them on our phone.
Yes, this is what we have. mydlink.dlink.com/products/DCS-932L H installed it on the wall over her crib and hid the cord in the wall, but you can just set it on a dresser or anywhere if you want it to be mobile. I really like it. It doesn't come with a monitor though, you have yo use your computer, laptop, iPhone or android phone. I'm a little addicted to looking at it. Even though my house is small and I don't need a monitor for noises, this is perfect so I can see her rolling around and know if she's standing up and waiting for me or playing or going back to sleep. I like that it has night vision but I imagine they all do. You set the time that goes to night vision. I think we have ours set that way 24/7 right now because we aren't sure with the time change, so it's always black and white, but if you set it correctly its color during the day. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
I think we'd be fine with just an audio monitor (that's what we're used to now - just listening for her from the next room) but sometimes I wish I could see what she's doing in there, especially now that she's getting more mobile. So these are great options.
Woah it says 129. I didn't see that. There was a sale when we bought it. I think we paid 79. Here is a snapshot of her fighting a nap as we speak. Her dad is in there with her while I shower for work. ETA. Damn him. He got her to sleep again. He's so much better at nap time than me.
Too weird that you posted this today, because I was coming on to ask this. Our bedroom is on the first floor and the nursery is upstairs, so I was trying to figure out would be a good video option.
