The election is over people! Right or wrong I don't want to hear about it anymore! Especially not:
A) You are moving and Canada, Britain, France or Sweden since Obama is a crazy socialist now apparently. Irony people! And a lesson or two in politics and types of government would be great while we're at it.
B) Those stupid falsified election maps where Romeny apparently won every county in the country but two. Do people really believe this shizz?!?!
Brought to you by: One of my Bfs from college has a husband who posts all this crap lately. And it's making me insane. Tonight it was that damn map plus some CS Lewis quote about how Liberals aren't really progressive because they're not coming back to the place they started?! I was all umm...what? This makes no sense! I can't comment though. They're the sweetest people ever just a bit clueless. BF keeps sharing what H posts because she really truly doesn't understand but she thinks he does...well...because..he's the husband and always right. I also can't start a debate because they're the most religious people ever to the point of insanity and forget that real life and God don't always mix (And we're the same religion for cryin' out loud, so I can say that...lol) so I'm just going to get some religious jazz back followed by 14 statement about Obama being a Christian hater because he's a Muslim.
In case you need more to the story, this was also the same girl that once told me she was doing the "more" Christian thing by being a stay at home Mom. I told her I work so I can give more money to the church. Basically, she believes word for word anything anybody remotely religious says, which means she just makes statements without realizing there's always a case for the other side too.
Basically, it's not worth my time, so I'll waste it here instead.
Rant over!
Signed, Dairy.
Who isn't really an Obama or Romney fan, but has studied enough politics in her life to know she just wants the fear mongers and sore losers to either shut the hell up or post the correct facts. At least I can respect valid!
Ha! Thanks. I'm just glad someone read through all that. They're great in so many other ways, but they really struggle with anything analytical or common sense. Outside of their kids and God that is.
This is the girl in college who couldn't figure out to write those BS papers we all got stuck with sometimes. We actually sat her down one night and gave her lessons on how to write filler. She actually she thought she was a bad student and going to hell for not being passionate about whatever profs random cause.
I think the people who say they are leaving the country because their canidate didn't win should be forced out of the country. Maybe they would keep their mouths shut or at least be someone else's problem
And a lesson or two in politics and types of government would be great while we're at it.
And an please, please, please an economics textbook!
I keep scratching my head over the old people who post crap about how it's immoral to pass so much debt down to ones children. Yeah, people in the age bracket your children fall into voted for Obama by a decent margin.
Brought to you by my grandfather, a man who holds a PhD in a legit subject but will never be convinced that Obama is not a Muslim.
Ha! Thanks girls. These stories make me laugh. I sound like I hate religion lately. I don't. I swear. I'm actually quite religious. I just happen to be a more free thinking, "Jesus loves us all" than most people I seem to know IRL. I am quite political, but I don't always necessarily have a side. I just like to research more than anything. I can buy any viewpoint as long as it makes sense. I'm sure one Sunday in Church they were told to get passionate about politics so they did. About twice a year these people get on a kick that's a church "supported" cause whether they really care or not. It's weird. But they also have a straight ticket to heaven probably. I might have to Limbo it for awhile?
The Muslim stuff is definitely senseless. I've tried arguing two ways:
I asked him what was wrong with Muslims holding office and he told me that Islam is the problem because its goal is to spread itself throughout the world. I pointed out that every religion had the goal of spreading and noted that he frequently tries to convert people to Catholicism. "It's different."
He told me to prove to him that Obama wasn't a Muslim. I turned it around and asked him to prove that HE wasn't a Muslim. His proof is that he goes to church (which I think Obama does, too).
Logic and reason are useless when he spends 10 hours a day watching Fox. I've given up.

Bahaha! I used to have my students analyze Fox news. Fabulous lesson in sensationalism right there. No work on my part required.
And as for the Muslim, I don't get it. Esp. from my Catholic friends. They walk around preaching about how Catholics are persecuted everyday, but yet they hate another religion?
Umm...no. So it's okay to convert the world to your religion only.

You know that's why I left FB. I just couldn't handle the ignorance and stupidity anymore - it was making my blood boil.
But now that my FB is back to normal, it's still annoying me. It's now full of ludicrous "If you don't click like, you hate babies!!1!!1" shares from friends. Seriously, what sort of simple people am I friends with? :-| I'm just doing FB less these days - it's the only way to keep my sanity.

Ahh, this makes me so happy to read.
Did you happen to see the Daily Show after the election? I've watched them 3-4 times each because I get such a kick out of it.

Totally. My FB time is pretty limited anyways. Scroll for the gossip and move on..lol. The whining about everything and stupid like pictures kill me. You're life isn't that exciting people!
Have you seen that picture of Obama laughing? The caption is something like "So you're moving to Canada where they have socialized health care, legalized same sex marriage, and no time limit on abortion? You'll fit right in."
Not saying I agree with all of those qualities of Canada, but it's still funny.

It totally is hilarious! It just amazes me people don't get the irony..lol. Our French exchange student loved to talk about how France was pretty socialized and free thinking as well. He was all like, "I may pay 40% in taxes but damn we're happy! Stupid Americans." Not that I necessarily always agreed with him, but he had a point.

Tarheels your FB feed sounds horrible! Mine was pretty great thru the election and after. Rarely any "if you love don't click this you don't love your mom" stuff.
Confession: Honestly, I love FB. I've lived a ton of places and my hometown is so small everyone moved away and are scattered across the country, so it is such a great way to keep up with everyone.
I'm going to stream those daily show videos after lunch!
