After many years of waiting I finally spent my bonus check on a kitchenaid. Well I got it out of the box and its been sitting for a while waiting for me to use it. Well Dh and I used it tonight and it squeaking on every speed. Should I contact kitchenaid?
What is squeaking? The bowl or the actual mixer head? If it's the blade sqeaking against the bowl, you need to adjust the head a little using that screw at the top. The beater blade sometimes squeaks if the sides of the bowl are empty and all the "stuff" is at the bottom.
If it's the actual machine, I'd call customer service it's probably an easy fix.

Mine squeaked the first few times I used it because the oil hadn't gotten spread around yet, but it stopped. I'd probably try putting something like a stick of butter in there and putting the motor through its paces long enough to get it to warm all the way up. If the squeaking doesn't stop, I'd call KA customer service.
ETA - put the butter in the bowl and beat it. Don't stick it in the motor (haha)
