I had my 3-hour glucose test today and I'm not too optimistic. I failed my 1-hour with a score of 171 when they want below 140.
So I go in today for the 3-hour and I get through the first two draws fine. On the third draw though she tries using the same vein as before and she blew it out. It felt like my arm was burning and I had to ask her to remove it before she could get any blood. She had to use a baby needle on my other arm to get that draw out and then I started getting dizzy, spotty vision and ringing in my ears. I just kept thinking "Don't puke or they might make you totally reschedule the whole thing." Eventually I was able to walk to a bed to lie down and started feeling better (and didn't puke, yay!). I kept apologizing though
I then had to call my husband because I wasn't going to drive home after almost passing out. 4th draw went fine luckily but now I'm worried that not having a good reaction to the blood draws is not a good sign for my results. My Mom also had gestational diabetes with at least one kid and last pregnancy I failed the 1-hour but passed the 3-hour, saying I was down to near hypoglycemic levels. I know I just have to wait and see though.
Even if I pass I get to do it all again in a few months, boo!

Thanks. I know gestational diabetes isn't THAT uncommon and lots of people manage with it but I am reallllly hoping for a complication-free pregnancy this time. Who knows, maybe I'll pass! I did last time so there's still the possibility. My arms are still sore though. Stupid small veins!
Could the dizziness and nausea have been related to the fact that she collapsed your vein, not the draw itself? I know I hate having blood drawn anyway, and that would have been the icing on a totally unappetizing cake.

Yeah, that is definitely possible since that's the only draw I had an issue with. I felt pretty bleh the whole time, but I know that's pretty common.
